Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for your advice! Both mothers and all 8 kittens are doing great.

When should I wean the babies, though? I have put small litter boxes in each room and cat food, but don't know if they are eating the kitten food or if the Moms are. Should I mix the dry with water? Can they eat canned food?

I will let them go to their new homes around 8 weeks too, I guess, right? They are 5 weeks old now.

Thanks!!!

Well, the kittens should really not go anywhere till at least 10 weeks. They will be much better off. You can start to wean them right now. I would try some wet food, but you have to keep mom away otherwise they will gobble it. Some may be ready and some may not. If they dont take to the wet food, you can get some KMR milk replacement and let it soak into the dry food to make a gruel. Make sure you get them to taste it by putting some on your finger and getting it on their mouths.
