I can't figure out why my kitties do this and wondered, it it just mine or everybody else's too? Sammy used to groom Garfy, until he was all done (which could have been one minute or 5 depending on how Sammy felt that day), then poor Garfy, all relaxed and everything, got a quick bite to the neck from his brother. Okay you're done, now GET OUT!! Time after time after time. It seems little Garf never learned to say "no, thank you!" when Sammy wanted to fix his fur.
But literally 2 seconds before the bite, Sammy was all attentive and taking care of Garfy. Makes me wonder what is going on in their minds!
I've noticed the kitties I have now do this too. Certain ones groom certain others. Oreo grooms Ned, until he doesn't want to anymore and the tussle begins. Why?
Are they that particular about their fur? Is there resentment that the grooming isn't mutual? What?
(I started this because I needed a little bit of brevity in my life right now. Some major ongoing existential questions that have been going on for years now, also some really minor ones like why does laundry - like dishes - never end? This has not been a good week.)
