5 degrees feels like -5. I have to take Izzy out to have her eye rechecked later so I will pull the car over by the door and warm it well before taking her out.
They sent out an e-mail that parents have the option to keep their children at home if they feel the weather conditions are too hazardous. But having taught in the school district for many years I'm not surprised they didn't close especially since yesterday they were off for MLK Day. We're used to this type of weather, like it or not, and as long as the school busses are working they usually don't close. Plus they check with other school districts in the surrounding area.That's crazy they are not closing the schools in your district! Not safe for kids!
