24 degrees ( they say feels likes 14 ) with a high of 34 today. All this bouncing around of temperatures is affecting Izzy asthma. We have a very good heating system but trying to regulate the humidity in here has been a challenge with all the ups and downs. She does not do well with low humidity

And I was complaining it cold here at 63 degrees!

I'm sorry Izzy is having a tough time with the humidity- what can you do for Iz?

Thank you Kwik Kwik We have a whole house humidifier on our heating system but one day it is 30, then it is 50 then 20. I looked yesterday and humidity was 39% which is to low for both of us. Got it to 47% yesterday and that was pretty good but temperature dropped last night into the 20's and humidity was back to 40%. I lowest range I can set it for is a 10 % range. It is tending to go to the lower end of the range so this morning I set it to 50% -60% if it goes to 50% that should be good 60% I would have to back it down. She may have to go on a low dose of prednisolone if it keeps up but I would like to avoid that if at all possible. She was already on one fairly long round of it a month ago. She always has this issue once in fall but this year has been more of a challenge.Vet has only mentioned putting her on low dose of pred but I am wondering of a change in her maintenance inhaler would be possible for just this time of year. I have a call out to the vet to see if we need to do something different at this time of year.

I find having a Cat water fountain going 24/7 solves the lack of humidity in the winter.

Supposed to be 48 degrees tomorrow, so I can get out and pick up everything that blew into my yard in this week’s wind and snow storm.
 I'm laughing because I did the same exact thing. We don't have room for the garbage cans in our shed so I bunched them up in a corner of the backyard. But the wind decided it had a better idea where they should be since I kept hearing a knocking sound at our patio door. My husband said it must be the garbage cans and I said it couldn't be but guess I was wrong.

Currently 32F, it's a heat wave from the last few days. Tomorrow even better, i.e. 46F.

Ahhh don't you just love wind, maybe not. If it is not nailed down here it doesn't stay put.

A balmy 37 degrees. I will take over 24 feels like 14 though. Temperature was suppose to be 65 tomorrow now saying it will be 56. Hopefully it will be 56, that right now would feel very tropical to me, but you get what you get.

It's 52F and sunny today though wind is blowing and gusts up to 30MPH. It's supposed to rain all day Monday and Tuesday then Wednesday it's supposed to snow again.

The nice weather gave me a chance to relocate two outdoor cat houses from my patio by the sliding door to the backyard about 80 feet away. This meant having to drag out the 100 foot extension cord to reach the cat houses to be able to connect it to the heated pads in the houses. The reason I needed to move them was because of the additional 4 cats that have been visiting my cat feeder box and interfering with the 2 resident outdoor ferals I've been feeding for a couple years that were hiding in the houses and ambushing them.

It took me about 2.5 hours to get everything arranged properly and reconfigure the other extension cord for the remaining cat house and heated water bowl but so far so good. When I was finished I grabbed a cup of coffee, looked out the window and saw Noco which is the spayed female lounging on House #1's front porch taking in the sunshine and grooming herself.

It is not unusual out here to get up to 130mph wind and there is not much to slow it down. Don't like it either! Love temperatures in the 70s perfect for playing in the dirt with flowers, herbs, or even weeding
