7-8 inches of very wet, very heavy snow today. The most snow we have gotten this early in October in 140 years of weather record keeping. It didn’t quite hit the snow levels of the Halloween blizzard of 1991, but within an inch. That year we were hit with snow and ice on 10/31 and didn’t see ground until April. I am really hoping this year won’t be the same.
44 degrees F and cloudy. It is going to be chilly all week - guess autumn is finally here (YUCK!). There have been [redictionsof possible snow in the hills west of us on Thursday. As long as it isn't like our Halloween storm we had 9 years ago! We were without power for about 5 days, some even longer. Usually the first measurable snow in in early December.
Woke up to a blanket of white!!!! That wet snow that sticks to everything. It's pretty to look at, but makes me sad...not a fan of winter.
It's still lightly snowing, sitting at -1C (30F), but feels like -4C (about 25F). It's supposed to continue snowing this morning, turning to flurries in the afternoon.
