whats the best flea medicine for cats ... they are both adult cats

Revolution Plus is used in our home. It's also good for ear mites, roundworms and hookworms. It needs to be given to the cat monthly (easy, it's a tiny vile and you apply the liquid between their shoulder blades where they can't reach to lick). Very effective. It can be costly but if you buy in in quantity the price drops off considerably.

Just make sure you get it high on the neck, if they ever lick it, it causes a lot of foaming. I like advantage II and Revolution Plus, if you are applying one for the first time, watch for reactions. My Yammy had a severe reaction and lost all his fur right before winter. He looked like a ragged Sphinx. Needless to ay, he became an inside cat and still is.

no its not my first time . im just find a cheaper brand then advantage II ... its 54.00 dollars
Revolution is also my favorite for cats. It protects against heartworm too, which is rare but can be very dangerous.
Advantage and frontline are also fine, but do not get anything that's significantly cheaper! The cheap brands are much more dangerous to the cat and shouldn't even be sold in my opinion.

I like Revolution, not Revolution Plus which contains a nerve agent, and that agent has killed dogs that took it in Nexgard.
For how many doses? If your vet is charging you $54 for 1 dose, definitely find another source! Make sure it's a certified pet pharmacy though, not a sketchy seller on eBay or Amazon. Chewy has Advantage II at $58.98 for a 6-pack. . .that's less than $10 a dose which is about the least expensive decent brand you'll be able to find.

I use Frontline because it’s not greasy like Advantage. Either way you buy in bulk and it’s very cost effective.

The active ingredients in both of these products interact with the nervous system to kill insects. Mammals have an efficient blood-brain barrier that prevents these drugs from doing harm, however there is a notable genetic mutation that is fairly widespread in dogs, specifically herding breeds, that allows certain drugs to pass through the barrier and affect the nervous system. It's a good idea to get your dog tested for this gene before putting them on certain flea medications. This kind of mutation has not been well-studied in cats yet.

Another vote for Revolution Plus. Also ask your vet if they price match the discount places like Chewy or 1-800-PetMeds. It wasn't until I said something to my vet about getting the prescription from one of those that they informed me that they price match.
Agreed with your post with a slight but important modification.
To clarify: Most monthly anti-parasitic drugs work by activating invertebrate glutamate chloride channels. (Fipronil, ivermectin, selemectin, moxidectin, fluralaner, and sarolaner) Mammals only have this channel within the CNS that is protected by the blood brain barrier. Even in herding dogs with the mdr1 mutation, heartgard and other flea/tick/heartworm are safe. The dose is low enough not to cause toxicity. There has been reported seizure activity in dogs that have had a prior history of neurological disease with the isoxazoline class of products (fluralaner and sarolaner) Thus, in animals with a history of neuro disease choosing a product without an isoxazoline is recommended.
As far as the OP’s question, I am a fan of Revolution as it is fast drying and non-greasy. If your kitties go outside and you live in a tick area, I would definitely consider Revolution Plus. Ticks carry some nasty cat diseases.
So I had to switch my flea meds recently, because advantage 2 stopped working for some reason. It was a real bummer. I have tried Revolution before and it is definitely the best, dries super fast, but you pay a hefty price for it. I wanted to see if there was anything new available, so I did a ton of research and came across Cheristin. It had pretty good reviews and amazing flea stats. The price was also comparable to Advantage 2, so I decided to give it a shot. I had a nasty flea problem brewing, due to Advantage 2 not working anymore, and a dog that needs to go outside. I have 4 cats, put Cheristin on all. Flea problem gone with in 2 days tops. I say 2 days, because I have a hard time believing that it worked that well in less than 24 hours, but it is advertised as having the ability to do just that. So for now, until I can afford Revolution, Cheristin is what I will use. The only reason I still would like Revolution is because it just dries that fast. Hope this helps.

Try Cheristin, it works really well, it’s just not revolution. I also have 4 cats and a dog, so that is why I am not going the Revolution route now. I use Cheristin on cats and Bravecta chew on dog. And fleas are gone finally. Bravecta lasts for several months as well. It is a great alternative to Advantage 2, since it stopped working for me.

Then Chewy is a bit cheaper. But even so, that's only $13.50 a dose so that's not too bad. Really anything cheaper than Advantage is either going to be ineffective or dangerous.
