My niece came and took all of the wedding decorations that I had been storing here! :woo: It definitely makes things a bit neater.

A roofer came out and gave an estimate for our building. They still have to get two more, but the process is starting! For now, there's a bucket sitting on my stove! But the really good thing is that it started pouring rain a while ago, so I went out to slip Little Bit's dish between the apartment wall and the Secret Feral Shelter, and a very startled little stripey faced peered out of the shelter at me! I know now for sure that Little Bit knows he has a home!

I went to buy food for Carleton today and the manager at the store told me the pet co. is introducing a new flavor so I got a 2# bag for free! :wow:

We caught a very large and friendly pit bull wandering our property, right next to a very busy road, and were able to keep him safe until his frantic owner got there. We now have his number to call in case Fluffy (go figure) gets loose again. FLUFFY? Oh well...I used to have a goldfish named "Fluffy." Who am I to point fingers?

I'm so glad your test results were good! Were they testing for anything in particular?
They are are keeping an eye on me for glaucoma. I have tests done yearly to check for changes.

I've had it since '92.
It's important for everyone to get tested by a specialist, who I'm sure did your tests. Glaucoma doesn't have any symptoms until there's vision loss.

I have a full eye exam every year. I have worn glasses since I was in the 4th grade, although I needed them sooner. I used to fake out the eye tester by memorizing the eye test.

I have some lattice degeneration which is from having such a strong prescription. The back lining of the eyeball is thinned in some areas. There is a small chance it could rupture, resulting in a detached retina. I had never heard about this, but now that I have it, I realize it is very common in near sighted people. I did go to a retina specialist for a few years. Things have stabilized so I just see a very good optometrist (still a doctor) who does work in close cooperation with the Retinal specialists ~~ actually, she is his family optometrist!! He told me...

I have the beginnings of cataracts ----as does the rest of the world...just makes me feel old...

Last year, when I was dieting, the pressure in my eyes went down significantly. The optometrist explained that I have a high baseline, and have for 7 years.

The size of my nerves are suspicious, so I have yearly OCT and Peripheral vision tests.

A few good things here from the past few days -

I had been missing a window in our garage for a few moths now. My husband wanted to try to fix it himself. :cringe: It's mostly back in now.

We finished spreading the 15 yards of mulch yesterday.

My credit card number was stolen, but the CC company caught it right away and put a hold on my card so no charges went through.

I got the upstairs of the house cleaned. For me that is a huge accomplishment.

I got to talk with my elder son for a full two hours last night. Some of it was sad, but...it has opened up a new line of communication now, and we're more in tune with each other than we have been in several years. This is GOOD stuff!

I met a friend for coffee this afternoon and ran into a woman I haven't seen since high school. She wants to get together and reconnect. The best part is that she recognized me after all these years!

I took a 3 hour nap! Totally on accident. My DH was home because he had an appointment this afternoon. I stretched out on the bed with my kindle for a minute and before I knew it it was 3 hours later.

A company that I order from on a regular basis sent me a pair of eclipse glasses, just because! How nice was that?
That's awesome. It's supposed to be cloudy and rain all day Monday, so I wouldn't be able to see it if I wanted to.

Today is my first day of clear, non blurry vision after my surgery. I'm happy to be back on TCS today. The first three days were rather boring, nothing but doctor appointments, eating, napping, and taking meds. I wasn't able to drive, read, or use the computer. I was only able to watch t.v. which I don't care much for. Now I can cook or go out for a good meal. :woohoo:
It's true.... you don't know what you've got until you lose it! :agree:

My copy of "Cat Shining Bright" came in the mail today! I pre-ordered it months ago, and have been waiting for more adventures of Joe Grey every since!
