Izzy saw the original vet she saw for her eye today, I like her a lot. So she will still be on the compounded eye drops for awhile and back on the ointment as well when her eye are red. Vet said it is definitely herpes. I had a concern that something might be up with her kidney and the vet was concerned with what I said so they did a urine test ( they said she was very good) and blood work so hopefully they will be back in a couple days.

Anyone familiar with animal/canine prints? Wondering who took a walk through my yard recently. We have a small coyote population but they aren’t supposed to be big here. One neighbor has a corgi and another similar size dog. The other has a pittie mix that doesn’t look big enough for these. If another neighbor has a big enough dog; I haven’t seen it!

I see the tips of his nails & long legs - could be coyote but looks wider like a fair size dog maybe a lab or pit mix imo

I learned a expensive lesson today. Don't promise to send something overseas without knowing the true shipping cost ahead of time. I sent a 4.90 lb. box of assorted Chocolate candy pieces to Germany. I was shocked at the shipping cost. Shipping alone came to 273.00 euros. I told the recipient to savor each piece as if it were Gold. I won't be doing this again.

Those prints are about 4” and seem massive to me. I hope I figure it out. The state’s natural resources website had coyote info and made them sound smaller than expected. I’ve never heard them calling here but I have at my inlaws in TN. There could be farm dogs around but most in our area don’t have much livestock where I’d think of a hearding dog or guardian dog.

I was disappointed our door cam didn’t catch it! I wanted a bird feeder camera. I might have to get a regular trail one if i keep finding cool prints. There was something smaller in the backyard but the prints were too distorted by snow melting.

Coyote prints can be as much as 3.5 inches so it may well be- note the distance of hind to front also and the depth of the print(I also dont know if the snow is soft or hard- it's a long stride and if the snow is not freshly fallen I'd presume the animal is not a lightweight with that distance & leg length- my guess is it is a medium size dog--collie,lab,shepherd,hound or as I mentioned a Pit type dog

Bear in mind that snow tracks are generally a good bit larger than the paws that made them.
