There's nothing quite like a check in your hands. HOWEVER, since I can no longer drive, cashing that check would cost me almost $25 in cab fees to and from the bank, with either another few bucks for having them wait, OR having to wait an unknown time for a call-back to the cab company. My health and those cab fares also mean that 90% of my shopping must be online, as well. AND, with direct deposit, I get the funds a day ahead of the scheduled dates. It is the only workable solution for me. I'm tickled that you have options! Options are GOOD!

It is great to have options- when my SSD finally came through I was on chemo, nearly bedridden so the social worker arranged everything for me to receive benefits and suggested DD so my SSI still comes that way and it was the only logical option for myself as well- so there's that and really, many people are housebound, disabled so it can be a Blessing( or.....) lol, thank goodness for options

So; I went to the local Tractor Supply store to pick up another bucket of cat litter. We use Tidy Cats Free and Clean, and whereas WallyWorld charges $28, it's only $20 at TS. There is a youngish girl working there, and every time I'm there, I've noticed that she is the poster child for what an employee should be. Always cheerful, always helpful, and always friendly to the customers without being familiar. So I did something that I have never done before- I went on their website and took the survey. At the comment section, I mentioned her by name, and said that whatever they were paying her, it wasn't enough. It seems that too many retail workers are just putting in their time, so the ones that stand out deserve proper recognition. And, who knows? It might even get results.

N NY cat man I really thank you for doing that! Having worked retail years ago it can be deplorable how people badly treat retail workers True though some people are just occupying space at work and nothing more. I think we are more prone to complain then to show appreciation to people. We should be doing both. Kuddos to you for recognizing this girl's efforts, we all need to do that more!

Everytime we have a new manager I explain how I have tried cashiering but have trouble so people complain it is finally noted as long as someone reads it

We have had issues with postal delivery here as well N NY cat man . I delivered mail down the street that was not ours and the woman says to me that's kind of you, if I get mail that doesn't belong to me I just throw it out! I don't even think that's legal. So Michelle's check is probably in the trash or sitting on someone's table. For that reason alone I will do direct deposit and in some cases you are required to do so. I always check to make sure it is in my account.I also have a informed delivery account with the postal service to see what is coming in the mail.
I find that USPS isn't much better lately than UPS. Neither business has employees that understand "House Numbers ". On a weekly basis, I'm receiving mail belonging to neighbors. Fortunately FEDEX still has their act together .

vansX2 vansX2 Unfortunately here Fedex is terrible and they almost never deliver to the correct address. UPS is the only delivery services here that delivers consistently to the correct address ( so far, I might want to knock on wood or something) I guess it depends on where your located and/ or employees that are working for the service.

Thank you for that. For years now, when I get especially good service, I take the time to talk with the store manager (and they ALWAYS make time when someone says, "a customer wants to talk with you about an employee!" LOL, they come out, all ready to offer apologies, and seeing the smile come across their faces when I tell them about the WONDERFUL service I got is so gratifying. I hope they pass that compliment on to the employee, to back up the “Thank You” I already gave the employee!

It such a hurried society we live in these days- I owned a business plus worked at least 2 jobs besides freelancing for clients - I didn't huff n puff behind someone on line or complain to the cashier ' I have to go to work"- why the heck would anyone go to the grocery store before work- get up early or manage your time better or arrange your schedule properly

Having said that, those Huffer puffers are the very same folks that will take the time to make a complaint about a retail worker yet they are far too busy to compliment anyone.... It's an ' all about me' generation imo

I always have and always will make time to give credit where credit is due and like you, there's nothing better or more gratifying to know that you've put a smile on someone's face and let them know they are appreciated

Mgrs or a customer care reps are always grateful & sadly so surprised to get a compliment ,it takes but a minute to turn an entire day around into a great day for someone

My Dad didn't call me Kwik for nothing,I talk fast, move fast, eat fast, drive fast and I'm always on the go- if someone like me can put the brakes on to stop and say' thank you for doing such an excellent job and for being so wonderful' then no one has any excuse not to imo except being self absorbed and inconsiderate......Kindness goes a long way

Where my cats are
Since I tested her 7 years ago she has not hissed or growled at my other cats. She would not have made it outside. She was afraid of other cats
Glory was super skittish. Her full name was Morning Glory (after the sparklers) but we usually called her Glory or Beans because she jumped "like a jumping bean." She was born in a cousin's garage and I picked her out when she was about a week old. We were very bonded! :redheartpump:

vansX2 vansX2 I hear you one that! Everyone out here has their house numbers on their mailbox or mailbox post, plus large letters on the house. Nope still can't deliver to the correct address.

Would you believe a USPS carrier asked me where to find 4502 as she was on the property staring at the sign on the Bldg(4500-4502)!!!!:disappointed:

I said" you're here, what is the problem"? Well, she said" some of these addresses say 4500& others say 4502 so where is 4502? I told her I thought it was a job requirement to be able to count because there are 216 UNITS here ,no difference if it 4500 or 4502,every unit is in numerical order ,I even gave her an example ( there's only ONE Unit " 150" here, doesn't even matter what bldg ABCDEF or G----its in NUMERICAL ORDER- the little line in the middle tells you the property spans over 2properties- 4500 all the way through 4502!!!!

Do you know she still didn't understand,I actually had to walk her past a few units to show her the numbers and besides - there's a COMMUNITY MAILROOM!!!!! This woman actually told me she was nit delivering the mail because our addresses are wrong and she left, with our mail!:nono:

After that I called the Postmaster General who directed me to the right person at her branch..... she's long gone btw,I'd imagine she may work inside
