No idea why she came so early
My daughter said she haf some bleeding and cramping on Tuesday, so she was rushed to the hospital, to be told she was 4cm dilated
She was born yesterday and in intensive care

Just drove what should have been my first (feral?) cat to the shelter to get fixed, only to have them call me and say: “Oopsy, he already has an ear clipped AND he has a microchip!” Hopefully he can be reunited with the owner. Strangely they couldn’t say who the owner was as they hadn’t microchipped him— I thought those things were sort of universal. Anyway, he got a tetanus shot, so that’s a bonus, Plus I got my “cat fix” by talking to him during the drive, and met the newest free roaming office cat who was so friendly I almost scooped him up and took him home, vet or no vet. This TNR cat schlepping is FUN.

Congrats on your 1st feral transport though I agree it's a personal letdown that he's already been TNR'd. My 3rd feral trapped also happened to have already been TNR'd so I commiserate with you.

While I'm not personally familiar with how microchip's are read, it's a shame they couldn't get the owner's info. You may have to catch him again to take to a vet that can offer to scan him, IF you can catch him again.

I've not heard of giving a tetanus shot to cats, did you mistype?

I believe that’s what they said though admittedly I’m a bit groggy as I had to get up super early to do this. Maybe I meant rabies.

Back when I got Mooch and Noodles microchips were new and we had to pay to register them so I never did. I do still have both tags with their numbers though. That was over 19 years ago so I don’t know how they do it here now. Universal registries would be nice but I suppose they need to be funded somehow.

For some reason I thought he was a good decade younger. I’ve never been into Star Wars but my mom loved the movie Field of Dreams and we had it on VHS. And of course he made the character Mufasa unforgettable. Its always sad to see the older generation of actors and musicians pass on; even knowing they had good long lives.

I saw a quote earlier where he said he stuttered as a child and how a teacher used his poetry to get him through it. Imagine going from a child who struggled to speak to a man so well known for his voice. I love stories like that. :redheartpump:

To quote my late husband, speaking about his great-aunt Jessie, "They say the good die young. Jessie died young at the age of 99."

I can't speak to James Earl Jones's goodness, but he kept working long after most people would have retired, because he loved what he did. I think he was young in heart, which can give the illusion that one is young in years.

I had "Miles" chipped about 6 years ago. I initially paid a registerion fee. The following year I was sent a notice to pay again. I felt it was a "shakedown " and refused to pay. Fortunately I haven't been bothered since.

I can only speak to Home Again which is the microchip company that I have chipped my pets with. There is an initial fee, but you don't have to ever pay again unless you want their other services which include vet care in case of injury or transportation if your pet is found miles from home. The microchip stays intact and if your pet is found and scanned, Home Again will still have accurate records on your pet and can help them to find their owner. I have never paid for the other services which run about $25 per year as I have pet insurance, for one thing.

If the vet scanned the cat, he would need a universal scanner which would read the microchip frequencies of several companies. There are still a couple of outliers from what I have been told. I have my own scanner and have never had it not read a chip which can then be traced back to the company using an online database.

I have brought in about 5 cats in my life who were already spayed or neutered. You still did a good thing.

James Earl Jones was on The Big Bang Theory 10 years ago, which would have made him about 83, and he seemed timeless, running around with Sheldon. Sadly the episode also featured Carrie Fisher who passed on a couple of years later. The episode has currently gone viral.

Mark Hamill tweeted "#RIP dad."

I have Home Again as well-- I just wanted to mention for anyone that might expect to travel with pets- be sure the Conpany ( like Home Again) is an approved microchip for Itnl pet transport (cargo)to accommodate quarantine regulations ..... some are not accepted which I found out when I used to go to Australia and was planning on moving with my cats.....

Imagine getting there and quarantine will not accept- don't imagine,it was the cherry on top that changed my decision to move

I didn't even know Carrie Fisher died.....gee,I must be in a bubble.....she was Patty Dukes daughter,right?
