I just had a call from Mum's nursing home that she's caught Covid. She's fully vaccinated, and for the time being they're giving her antivirals and monitoring her there. She's 92 and diabetic, which increases her risk of it being serious, so fingers crossed. They said she was sniffly and feeling a bit weak - it must have just started today, I saw her yesterday and she wasn't showing any signs then.

Try tree removal services. That might be your best bet.

I’m not sure what you’re envisioning but driftwood might be lighter than a log. DH negotiated a tree removal for us to where they left everything but cut it down to a certain size that was manageable. I would just be careful about bringing bugs in with dead wood. We had our house tented and fumigated a few years ago and I do not want to repeat the experience! DH actually took all his scrap lumber and put it in the garage so it would be treated too. 😣

Me: "it's so great how much money I'm saving by getting all these hand me downs from my friend, so I don't need to but clothes for my kids."

Also me: Dropped a bunch of money on Children's Place online Labor Day sale because my kids clearly need matching fall outfits.

My daughter gave birth to a baby girl yesterday 13 weeks premature
It's, a very worry time for me and u live 200 miles away and no car
Baby Isla eve was born at 27 weeks gestation yesterday at 3 45pm weighing 2lb 6 oz
She's doing well and in neo natal intestine care, attached to wires and tube fed
I've not had the best of luck lately, with losing 3 cats, then poppy getting sick
I'm praying my grand daughter will pull through
Her due date was 3rd December
No idea why she came so early
My daughter said she haf some bleeding and cramping on Tuesday, so she was rushed to the hospital, to be told she was 4cm dilated
She was born yesterday and in intensive care

Michele's sister just moved into an apartment, and has been getting furnishings for it. One of the things is a hutch that has three lower doors, three drawers, and two upper shelves, plus racks for wine glasses. The only thing is, it ships flat and needed to be assembled......... and guess who got nominated for that job. Her useless adopted son couldn't pour water out of a boot, even if the instructions were printed on the heel, so the job fell to me, and it did my arthritis no good at all, what with having to drive all those screws. But, the job is finished- at least until the next time she needs something done, and done right.

Like this shape? https://es.aliexpress.com/item/3256801589518410.html

Also I googled “realistic cat tree” and… 🥴 They were about as realistic as these “tree” cell phone towers I’ve seen on our travels.

Unfortunately N NY cat man Some go out of their way not to do anything. My father was always the nominee as well. I like the couldn't pour water out of a boot, even if the instructions were printed on the heel. I will have to remember that one! I hope your arthritis is doing better. Funny how some of us just keep going....... at least as long as we can.

I cleaned that up for polite company; the original 'boot contents' only had four letters: think yellow snow. As for my arthritis, I use an analgesic cream. It works fairly well, but it takes some time to reach full effect. There's not a whole lot that I can do, otherwise.

My son paid my daughter $15 to do his chores today. And yes I let him. Although I did just suggest that now he has time to catch up on school work. Hes actually grounded from sitting on the couch because I keep catching him playing games instead of working on school. Also I took the gaming controllers back on Tuesday… (And yes I keep blocking stuff but even dictionary and thesaurus.com have games. :frustrated: So now he has to use a physical thesaurus for school.)

My kids don’t get an allowance. Hes already lost all his teeth. He has no source of income aside from birthdays and Christmas. So observing that his sister has spending money when he doesn’t; that might be a much greater lesson than anything that comes out of my mouth.

Just did a super deep clean and found one Zorro hair. As always, such a sweet speckly mixture of grey black and white. Whenever I find one I blow on it and make a wish, like an eyelash. Being catless gives me a moment to reset, and think how I’d do things differently or better if we ever get a new Veterinarian in these parts. I get to wondering, for instance, how much does catfood contribute to climate change, and would I have to make less dump runs if I got a can crusher.

It has been over three weeks, and still no sign of Grumpy. At this point, I don't think that he will be reappearing, although I hope that I'm wrong. We do, however, have a visitor. I noticed that the food we left in the feeder was being eaten during the day, but we never saw who it was. Today, I saw that it was Flash, a feral male shorthaired tuxedo that was doing the eating. He lives in the detached garage of our back fence neighbors, but unless they weren't home, he always ate there. As far as I know, he is a TNR, but he lacks the tipped ear. Maybe he is now taking Grumpy's place?
