I received a unusual notification tonight on my phone. Currently the northern part of my county is under a Tornado Warning. I'm watching the movement on TV. At present I'm about 10 miles south of the projected Tornado path.
There was a tornado that touched down in Buffalo yesterday. It was reported that a nursing home was damaged, and around 35 residents had to be moved to different facilities. I didn't hear if there were any injuries. That would place it around 30 miles of us, give or take.

Fall park district sign ups in a little over an hour today. I have my wishlist prepped, my alarm set, and I'm ready to go. J also wants to do ballet (which would be ballet/tap at her age) as well as gymnastics, and if I want her to do three mornings of preschool this year - which I do - I'll have to try and get her in an evening class. Some of our park district classes sell out in like 2 minutes, so it's always a stress to see if I get the classes I want.

I got the job of taking one of our cars for service today so I’m in the dealership waiting room by myself. Normally DH handles it but with the kids being on summer break and old enough to stay home; there was no reason to drop it off early or wait for better availability. I brought coffee and they actually have a nice waiting area now. (Unlike another dealership’s completely sterile, windowless, uncomfortable waiting room.)

So do I check out their snacks or eat the granola bar I brought since I wasn’t up for breakfast yet? And do I take myself to Home Goods to browse when its done since I’m rarely up here and its kinda far from home. 😇😅

Has anyone ever had a song pop into their head from out of nowhere? I woke up in the middle of the night with a lyric running on an endless loop:
T'was so good to be young then, to be close to the earth
Now the green leaves of summer are calling me home
The song, Green Leaves of Summer, by the Brothers Four, came out in 1960, but I haven't heard, or even thought of it, in decades. I make no claim to be psychic or anything of the sort, but where did it come from? I would hate to think of it as some sort of premonition, but I have no other explanation.

Nah,no premonition- just enjoy the earworm.....there's been so many studies on these types of things- seems like a phenomenon but it actually quite common

Music imagery can be triggered by many things associated wiith a memory like a sound, smell a taste or a sight that we are completely unaware of but subconsciously it has a place in ths recesses of our minds.....😀

Good thing because I’m going on 3 hours here and they’ve started banging with construction work either above or behind me now. 🤪 I’m browsing the DoorDash app like I’m actually going to use it instead of just making myself more hungry. :rolleyes2:

They did tell me that a couple lug nuts had to be broken to get them off to rotate my tires. I thought they were almost done an hour ago.

Ok now they are done. My DD was checking the location of my phone.

Sometimes I do that and it means something but not in a premonition type manner like something is going to happen. Usually there’s a lyric I need to hear vs the song as a whole. The weirdest is when I’m pretty sure Ive never heard it before. Sometimes it means nothing though.

I read fairly recently, somewhere, that "Tornado Alley" is shifting to the east. Won't that be FUN??? (read that "FUN" in a very snarky tone of voice)

I dunno, but when I read those well-known lyrics (and heard it in my "mind's ear," I got chill bumps all over. Just TINGLED!

Wow that's nuts! I'm glad you got them all! You guys are going to be busy. Especially if both girls want different classes one day.
Yeah, idk how they do it once kids are in school full time. J's preschool is offering a three day option this year, so I decided I'm going to do that, and maybe get her in a second preschool next year so she's doing four or five half days, and then when she hits kindergarten which is five full days, she'll have eased her way up to it.

Aside from J's gymnastics and dance, I signed M up for Kindermusik one of the days J will be at preschool and she won't be at PDO. She's been dragged to her sister's stuff since I was pregnant with her, so I thought she might like a mommy and me class of her own. I did Kindermusik with J when she was 1, and it's a nice sort of first park district class and good for toddlers.

Kindermusic sounds fun! I know my cousin had someone come do a music activity at one of her boy's birthday parties when they were little. The pictures were cute! We live too far away so we didn't get to go. There was a fun guy at a Day Our with Thomas (the train) thing we took the kids to when DS was super into trains for a while. They had lots of drums to beat on and different instruments to shake or strum. Of course kids loved beating on the drums over the guy's music but eh it was a kids event. :rolleyes2:

I came back Tues from more testing at methodist. I never used my cpap til I got home. I tried it at night and it stunk aweful and sounded bad. They had put water in the chamber so then the tubing was also full of water. Somehow I have to clean and empty it. I think I'm going to pay $35 for a whole new set instead.
