Carfax has a bunch of info on vehicles - they track by VIN. I recently went to a new place for oil change and Carfax emailed me with an entire history of the car’s maintence including when tabs were purchased each year.

I'm currently so exhausted I could go to bed now, at 6:30pm, lol.
Hang in there. It'll pretty much calm down in 15 years or so.

Yes,just like housing authority. The rent will go up next year since maintenance will do alot of repairing. The apartments old so the weather stripping is bad. Wood work is in poor condition in bathroom and bedroom
Saw an article today that the government is trying to cap rental increases at 5% per year. Don't know when that might go into effect, or even if, for sure, but I'm hoping so!

I get at least 10 emails a day saying that things like my Costo, Sirius X, Netflix, etc accounts are suspended, and to "CLICK HERE." LOL, the ONLY one of those that I even have is Netflix. They are sent to spam, then thereafter deleted without opening. I did get one that I paid attention to. It was for Chase bank. No, I did not click, I went straight to the website. Yep, it was a scam. I did enjoy the IRS ones, though...they were calls. Since they were lying to me, I had no issue with lying back at them. "This is Mr. Smith with the IRS. Your account is under review for (whatever)." "OH! Are you in the Washington, DC office?" "Why, yes, I am." OH GOOD...you can go to the 14th floor, to the Fraud and Securities Department, and speak with my son. He handles ALL of my taxes." They couldn't get off of the phone fast enough.

Tarantulas. I saw one at a museum. It was quite beautiful & made me rethink that whole scary thing. It didn’t move a muscle. It was a Chaco Golden Knee. I wish I had golden knees! (Why it has golden knees is beyond me).
I am so terrified of large spiders, and I just read about some flying venomous spider moving its way across the US. I told my friend if that happens, I will never set foot outside my house again.

Growing up I was never afraid of spiders or any creepy crawlies- that all changed after I moved to Florida, discovered Palmetto bugs and got bitten by a brown recluse

But when I was young a friend had a pet Tarantula named Fred- I got a kick out of his fuzzy body and loved him walking up my arms-he seemed like such a sweet thing, soon as you put your hand in his big tank he'd slowly walk over and go up your arm.

I asked my friend " So does Fred know his name, does he know you, does he know the difference between you and I "? My friend looked at me,laughed and said- "Kwik,Fred is an arachnid- he knows no one and if he feels threatened he can fling those hairs you like so much into your face or sink his fangs into you"

Hmmm,I thought he was friendly-he just didn't feel threatened I suppose but he never bit anyone.... If I saw a tarantula today I'd freak out

Today it's a year since Mia has been gone. Her name is actually M.I.A. (Missing in Action.) When she was in her youth living the feral life she kept disappearing and would frighten the life out of me. Eventually that stopped - but the name Mia stuck.

I have a candle for her tonight. My friend brought flowers... but the funniest one was the phone call at dawn asking me "what did I do". There is / was a world wide outage that impacted planes, banks etc. I died laughing since I immediately got the blame.

This is Mia helping me out with the time machine. Mighty, mighty Mia. Your Mama is very proud!!!!

That's my girl! :rockout:

So the plumber still hasn't called about coming back to set the dishwasher nicely under the counter- I think I'll see how long it takes him cause he's obviously not worried about getting paid and I've got hot water so .... lol
He probably forgot,he'll be reminded by his billing dept I suppose :dunno:

So I am really upset ,disturbed and angry.

We just had a woman here charged with the abuse of a cat. The cat peed on the floor. She grabbed the cat and it scratched her. She then punched the cat at least ten times and attempted to strangle it. Her sister came home and found her cat lying on the floor with her sister standing over it.
She took took the cat to an ER hospital where it stayed for two days. The cat was diagnosed with strangulation and head trauma. The cat’s injuries included swelling around its brain, bruised ears, lesions inside its mouth and red marks on its neck. The hospital bill was close to $4,500.00 which the woman has been ordered to by $500 dollars a month to her sister until to is paid back. Other fines and jail time are pending on a court appearance. She was charged with both felony and misdemeanor charges.
If she gets jail time I'm sure it won't be nearly enough but I can hope. Looks like she could get up to three years in jail and/ or a fine of up to $5000.00 for the felony and 90 days and $1000.00 for the misdemeanor on top of paying back ER hospital bill to her sister.
I was just shaking reading the article.

I get people can have tempers. I get people can get reactionary - but that is beyond upsetting.

Any news update on what lasting damage the cat has suffered? (I hope little to none - but those kind of injuries are sadly probably going to have a lasting impact on the kitty both emotionally and physically.)

😢

IzzysfureverMom IzzysfureverMom that is terrible. Animal abuse in my state supposedly comes with a mandatory six month felony sentence. I have seen it come to fruition a couple of times. I won't even go into what I think should be done, but nothing good.
I'm with you.I am beyond hoping she get at least three years on the felony charge. Throw every fine and jail time you can at her. I can't even imagine what her sister experienced walking in on that and seeing her cat like that.

Had I been the sister who walked in, there's a good chance I'd be facing charges, as well. And count it well worth the cost, for that matter. I cannot abide anyone who abuses ANYTHING helpless. Be it an animal, a child, or an elderly person. I consider them a danger to society. I do, however, make exceptions for certain insects. There are limits to my forbearance. I'd make a very poor Buddhist.

I am so terrified of large spiders, and I just read about some flying venomous spider moving its way across the US. I told my friend if that happens, I will never set foot outside my house again.
I'm with you. Only it is ALL spiders. A little guy came in on my grapes the other day. I dispatched him as quickly as possible. One of those "limits to my forbearance." Only ONE of us can live in this apartment, and I PAY THE RENT!

Okay, if there is a flying spider of any kind headed my way, I am going to have to move away somewhere. I hope for someplace with heavy snowfall rates (here's looking at you, Maine) but if these spiders like snow, then I need to be on an island! I have a serious spider phobia. There is one in my house now, even as we speak, but he is not the flying kind. Who knows, it could be him? :dunno: :frown: :paranoid:
