Someone set out a litter of kittens that my SIL estimates between six and eight weeks old at my BIL's business. :angryfire: I won't get on my soap box about irresponsibility, but I want to. One of my SIL's took in one red kitten. That leaves four. The local animal control (a no kill shelter) initially said they wouldn't take them, but DH showed out and the woman there followed him out the door to tell him they would. I wasn't there, because for whatever reason, I have been excluded from the rescue effort. :dunno: I know, we are all devastated and wondering why! Why can't I even meet the kittens? Just hold them for a little while? (And they have the ones that have been caught in the bathroom of a home that nobody has given me a key.) They are apparently somewhat people-friendly. One of my SIL's told me the one the other SIL took in seems like it is going to have a great personality.

My headaches and dizzy spells are not improving. It is a terrible feeling to be on the bed and feel like it has turned into a roller coaster. At that point, the rational part of your mind is telling you that you aren't going to fall, and the realistic part of your mind is telling you that you if you feel like you're falling, you're falling. I hang onto my pillow for dear life, because I feel the need to hold on. I wish that worker's comp hadn't tried to punish me by delaying my MRI. That's another story :angryfire: but maybe the two consecutive falls could have been prevented if they had found out why my leg gives way.

Sorry, I am in a bad mood. My apologies. I think maybe I should go to bed for a few minutes.

I’m getting photo updates from DDs summer camp. Its highs in the 90s all week…there are kids in hoodies. Outside!! :dunno: Teenagers!:rolleyes2: Are hoodies like a security object these days or something?

Also; she just text me for the first time this year. 🥹 Last year I got one or two a day. (Phone use is discouraged.) This time I initiated. I’m taking it as a sign she’s more confident being away on her own. Plus she’s with friends she made last year. :redheartpump:

Yes, probably; they bear a strong resemblance to a wearable security blanket. With pockets, and without the "childish" stigma.

Michele and I did something today that we haven't done in years- attended an estate sale. There wasn't a lot that I was interested in, but a couple of things caught my eye. One was a book, published in 1918, titled The United States Navy, from the Revolution to Date. The price was right, so it followed me home. It is chock full of large-format photos, as well as lithographs of people and ships, such as the Arizona being launched, and later when it was in commission; as well as her contemporaries, such as the Texas, Pennsylvania, and Nevada. I'm kind of a geek for history, especially naval history, so the book was a natural.

I always joke that my kindle is my security object. So why not a hoodie? :dunno: Except the whole 90dregree temps thing. 🥵

Also my DD just text to please not forget to pick her up tomorrow. :flail: :dunno: I told her I thought it was next Friday and that her brother and I were planning to go to Disney and ride the tea cups. 🤪 She said “ha ha”

I am entirely in touch. When I have a really bad vertigo attack, I lie on the bed holding onto the sheets because my body is convinced that I'm falling into the ceiling. It is a HORRIBLE feeling! I am so, SO sorry that you're going through this!

Maybe they've excluded you because they are more concerned about your current issues with the light headedness and worried, knowing you ,you'd forget about yourself in an effort to help the kitties or even just to cuddle them with some loving instead of staying home safe for right now

I sent a message to Wayfair to contact GoPetClub about the 72" Condo I purchased earlier this month- my cats will not go near it with that odor about it( glue, chemicals, gasses?)

Something needs be done, either replace, refund or tell me how to resolve the problem,no doubt they've heard it before- I've bought many GoPetClub products and had the exact same Condo my cats loved and used everyday, this is a first with this kind of problem - the gasses or chemical cannot be good for my cats!

I use gopetclub 72inch tower and have never had trouble. Try contacting gopetclub and wayfair. Maybe wayfair never called.

Kwik Kwik that is very kind of you. What they are really worried about is that if I meet the kittens, I will want the kittens. And even I know we are not currently running low.

Okay, it feels like we are running low, am I right? Bob could use someone more his age to play with. He gets on the girls' nerves.

I was feeling bad (sorry, I know we are all tired of this stupid concussion), but I went out with a friend to pick up dinner in the city for her parents as an early Father's Day gift. On the off ramp in our little town, there was a man sitting beside the road smoking a crack pipe. I know drugs are rampant, but it kinda shocked me. I have seen people under the influence (like the ghostly man who stepped out in front of me on the way to work one night), but I have never seen anyone doing anything like that broad daylight for all to see. I've been a nurse in our jail. Trust me when I say, the officers are all carrying tasers and they're not playing. I wouldn't want to be an inmate there.

Imagine that,in broad daylight!Used to be police would've swarmed down on someone for smoking Crack but these days they don't seem to care much so I suppose the users are getting more brazen- I know here in South Florida it used to be the crime of the Century if someone even had a crackpipe in their possession, now it looks like they turn a blind eye unless it's trafficking or distribution- it's how it appears to me anyway..... society is very desensitized, aren't they and I'm disappointed in our police dept alot lately- there's a real problem resident here and police are called often and their response is" well, you know she has mental issues".... my neighbor called because the person walked in his house and refused to leave

He didn't say anything but I did- I Saud " no,he doesn't know and doesn't need to know and you're not a Dr,your the police so bring her to the hospital for psych evaluation and do YOUR job ,it's unlawful entry and trespass PERIOD!

So would a kitten be a good idea for Bob? For you? And I'm not ever tired of the "stupid concussion" talk- I want to know how you are doing and it's concerning so please do update!!!!!❤❤❤

I suppose that seeing someone sitting by the road smoking crack is better than having a meth lab two doors down from your house. I was still working at the time, but Michele took pictures. There were local, county, and state police, the county SWAT unit, a HAZMAT unit, and fire trucks. She said that the only thing missing was a helicopter. So far as I know, the guy is still in jail. The kicker is that the house actually belongs to his baby momma's parents, and SHE had just been released from jail. They could have lost the house through civil forfeiture. Yep, things are changing, and not necessarily for the better.

Oddly enough, she said that she didn't see any Feds, or at least any that were recognizable as such. The only good thing is that there haven't been any repeat 'visits', and it has been nine or ten years since the raid.

Addiction is such a nasty beast. Its like trying to tame an octopus by cutting off one arm at a time. We've seen too much ourselves. It brought MIL into working with a nice ministry for several years in her retirement; helping women who had been incarcerated and most had some addiction. My cousin's ex nearly killed her (literally) and the drugs they found kept him in prison longer than what he did to her. But it woke her up that she COULD stand on her own two feet. Another cousin is a licensed mental health counselor and works with teens with addictions. Her job is so demanding she ran a group session the night before being induced with her first baby and she often meets with people remotely while on vacation. I can see her dedication; but WOW is that a draining field!!
