Thank you. Dad requested that my brother drive him to the hospital 2 hours from here, so he can bypass a bill from all the little hospitals, since they will send him there anyway for his heart. Hope I hear an update soon!

Thanks everybody. They are going to get him some nitroglycerin pills and that should relieve the pain and improve the blood flow and he needs to see cardiologist. I guess they are keeping him overnight.
Better to keep him under close observation, than come home and need emergency assistance overnight. My Grandma had a procedure done once, and we were calling an ambulance as a precaution at 1:30 in the morning.
M maggiedemi :hugs:

M maggiedemi keep your chin up. It may be that he needs stints.
14 years ago my mom had breast cancer, she had a mastectomy and the very day they released her from the hospital, she had a heart attack. Spent 7 days in ICU and ended up having to get 4 stints. Even with a lot of damage, her heart has got stronger and is now almost better than it should be for her age (80).
What I'm getting at is that treatment in this day and age, the outcome is not necessarily a grim one.
Hope he feels better soon.

What a happy puppy!

----

My mom just emailed me this article about how seniors don't drink enough water (I'm not a senior - she is) but I too sometimes forget to drink.

My Mom often comments how she's forgotten to take in enough fluids.... soo...

I logged into her Alexa and set it to remind her every hour. "You need to drink some water."

I told my one colleague that if Mom my calls - I'm not here. LOL :flail:

Feeling just a little silly. I was making dinner and found an unknown bug on the counter. As I often post I do a great deal of thrift shopping and try to be extremely careful not to bring home any bugs. This one was odd looking, sort of what a roach baby might look like and out came the flashlight and everything under the sink was moved out so I could check for anything crawling. Then I of course had to check both bathrooms well. Nothing found and it wasn’t until I sat back down that I remembered I had opened the kitchen window earlier to let in a lovely cool breeze. Not an indoor bug, I realized, just something that slipped in under the screen.

kashmir64 kashmir64 and anyone else who read my rant about the phone call to the vet the other day.

Apparently I was talking to a receptionist the other day, not a vet tech. Yikes. That makes that conversation so much worse and not appropriate at all. She's relatively new so hopefully she gets some more training. We all have to learn somehow and mistakes is often sadly how it's done.

When the one Vet Tech called back (I adore this one so much so I was glad it was her as she's a solid human) I realized there have been a lot of miscommunications, which explains the last few months. I don't know what the situation is in the US, but here we don't have enough vets for the influx of animals since covid. Everyone is stretched. There have been a lot of new people there that I saw, a new system and they added another vet. The perfect storm as they say.

Bless my Docs heart, she researched her heart out and even called an oncologist in the US; where the one portion of the Advanced GI panel I was asking about is done. It's apparently the only place that does it. The US oncologist gave her lots of info and the end result was don't bother with it. It's not worth it.

We've now put a solid plan in place for BH that will be good for monitoring her. I feel like a weight has been lifted. That's the vet I know and love. I'm glad this was the result.

Oh creepy crawlers!

If you ever wonder what something is take a picture go to google images. If you upload it you'll get lots of answers. This includes things like stuff around the house that you have NO IDEA what i t's for (I have a box of "what the helk is that" and it's helped to identify things there is no way I could). Even artwork that you'd like to find out who the artist was. It does a pretty good job. :)

I get those bugs quite often in the fall. When I first found them I would panic, fortunately they are just a baby roach look-a-like beetle from the Juniper trees.
The ones I still have a fit over are what we call Cedar Gnats (I personally call them flying teeth). Everytime I see one hopping around I have to kill it and check thoroughly (flashlight and magnifying glass) for wings. Thank the heavens they have all had wings because these bugs can easily pass for fleas. Where I would go full on nuts if they were.

I have an insulated cup with a straw I keep with me almost all the time. It helps me remember to drink more water when it's not hot out. Would something like that help that she could keep with her?

Yup. Fleas, roaches and bedbugs are my most feared.
