Had a picnic today for Labor Day. Burgers, baked beans, potato salad, chips, deviled eggs, pasta salad, and cookies for dessert.
Yummy! I had popcorn and cheetosThis was on our Labor Day menu. I'm getting better with the ribs. I have to make my own rubs, sauces, etc. because that way I can control the salt. Rick said the ribs were really good; he doesn't like them fall-off-the-bone and these had just a bit of chew. He said next time make them a bit spicier. The wings could have gone another 20 minutes or so; the rub is just lemon-pepper and Hungarian sweet paprika. Marinade is butter, garlic, bourbon (yum!) with seasonings for Louisville wings, minus the salt. Potato salad, cole slaw, and crockpot beans as sides with a peanut butter pie for dessert.
As I type, Dear Richard is enjoying a second piece of peanut butter pie! With whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

Tonight we're having leftovers. Rick had cut up half-racks and the rest of the ribs went into the freezer last night. So we have a bit of sirloin tip, some pulled pork, and now some ribs in the freezer for busy nights when Rick has to bowl.
I'll bring a Smirnoff Ice and whatever Dear R wantsmaggie101 Kwik By all means, c'mon over! I could handle a good party!!
