I have never cussed so much in one day! I accidentally put in 2 1/2 cups of water instead of 1 1/2 cups to make homemade bread. I had left overs tonight and dropped the bowl. Bunch of little pieces of chicken, zucchini, corn, and rice:mad:

This was on our Labor Day menu. I'm getting better with the ribs. I have to make my own rubs, sauces, etc. because that way I can control the salt. Rick said the ribs were really good; he doesn't like them fall-off-the-bone and these had just a bit of chew. He said next time make them a bit spicier. The wings could have gone another 20 minutes or so; the rub is just lemon-pepper and Hungarian sweet paprika. Marinade is butter, garlic, bourbon (yum!) with seasonings for Louisville wings, minus the salt. Potato salad, cole slaw, and crockpot beans as sides with a peanut butter pie for dessert.

As I type, Dear Richard is enjoying a second piece of peanut butter pie! With whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

Tilapia fillets dusted with flour then dipped in beaten egg with milk and yellow mustard, and finally coated with freshly made bread crumbs before frying up. Nicely browned and crispy crunchy.

Served with rice, and mixed (frozen) vegetables.

maggie101 maggie101 Kwik Kwik By all means, c'mon over! I could handle a good party!!

Tonight we're having leftovers. Rick had cut up half-racks and the rest of the ribs went into the freezer last night. So we have a bit of sirloin tip, some pulled pork, and now some ribs in the freezer for busy nights when Rick has to bowl.

Well, last night was odd. Like the delivery order, the trip to the store went a bit sideways. I wasn't able to find the triple succotash, but DID get some Hoppin' John, which will do nicely. Next time I order, I'll specify to substitute that. AND I picked up a small container of potato salad, which was a life saver. I did not sleep...AT ALL. No clue why not. I was so drained last night that I had half of the potato salad for lunch, and the other half for dinner. NOT a balanced diet at all, but quick, and required nothing more of me that sprinkling a bit of salt and pepper! Save my life, that did! I DID get caught up on sleep today, though!

SO...tonight I shall have scrambled eggs for lunch, maybe with an English muffin, and a chicken patty with Hoppin John and green beans for supper.
