I think most of this week's dinners will be quick and easy since my oldest and I will be cooking/baking for Thanksgiving. So tonight I'm having a veggie hummus wrap with a sweet potato and DH is having a chicken and rice bowl with corn. Dark chocolate coffee buzz bar for dessert.

Sounds delicious. 😋

Lentil and kale vegetable soup tonight with a french onion bagel. DH is undecided between a grilled cheese sandwich or turkey burger sandwich and tater tots.:dunno: Honeycrisp apple for dessert.
Yes it is really good and I have a sage plant outside so easy on busy days.Izzy wasn't happy.Where did she come up with the idea our dinner should be her's also? Oh yes I remember now, my husband who feeds her from the table.🥴
AND yes I will take some lentil and kale soup!! Sound absolutely perfect ❤

Tried a new spaghetti sauce from aldis called kale pesto. Also made a few meatballs, and cooked some farfalle.....delicious!No garlic bread tonight...I had just taken 2 loaves of pumpernickel out of the oven,so warm bread and butter worked just fine.

Our son and daughter in law took us out to eat for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! They had a huge buffet with so much to choose from...it's a pretty good sized restaurant and it was packed,,but we didn't have to wait very long at all for our table.I forget sometimes that we do live in the south, sort of,so when they make stuffing (or dressing),it's cornbread. Not my favorite but everything was delicious and at a very fair price. Then we came home and had pie.I'll tell you..if you've never had chocolate bourbon pecan pie,or my Grandma's pumpkin pie, you're missing out.To die Glorious day with my family.I hope everyone had an equally wonderful day!

Venison back strap cut like tournedo, seared in cast iron frying pan. Cut up sauteed chicken of the woods mushroom (from freezer), added to sauteed finely cut onion. Heaped a spoonful on puff pastry, topped with venison, folded up pastry and placed seam side down in cast iron frying pan. Into the oven.

Stuffed three large mushroom caps with hot Italian sausage, fried and broken / crumbled, together with chopped up mushroom stems and onion, brush with melted butter and into the oven.

Other sides were wedge cut potatoes done in air fryer - cooked well but did not brown. Steamed Brussels sprouts. Braised carrots and little pearl onions.

I had Beaujolais, Himself had apple cider.

Dessert was apple kuchen I had baked earlier.

turkey with gravy, asparagus, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and my kids fav pillsbury biscuits in the can was on our menu.
I had 3 things that went wrong.
My turkey baster cracked so I spoon basted.
My meat thermometer was giving accurate reading so I switched to my instant read thermometer. And the beloved biscuits exploded and landed everywhere. Turns out they were fermenting and built up pressure. Thankfully I had a few frozen baguettes that I popped in the oven.
We also had double chocolate cake but everyone was so full no one ate any.
so tonight we’ll have open face turkey sandwiches and chocolate cake.
