What's For Dinner? - 2021

Trying a new recipe for wings in the NFG; this one has tequila….be still, my heart. Broccoli coleslaw with the broccoli and cabbage from our garden. Mint tea. Iced oatmeal cookies for a bit of dessert. Just took the cookies out of the oven.

I pulled out the vertical "strings" in the celery to make it not quite as tough and microwaved the apple slices like 10 seconds to soften them slightly, but she mostly just gummed and sucked out juice/flavor rather than biting anything off.

How sweet. I think they are so adorable when they start trying grownup food.

A grilled cheese sandwich with steamed local corn. If I have time on Sunday and the weather isn't bad, I'll stop by a farmer's market and peruse the offerings. I really want purple beans. The little grocery store sells a lot of locally grown produce but no purple beans. I think a farmer's market would have some.

We had a repeat of Tuesday. I roasted a couple of chicken thighs. The girls and I shared them. I had a cup of mango peach applesauce with mine.

Some sort of chicken with rice and veggies in a sweet and hot sauce. There was just enough sweet to knock the sweet out of my ginger ale...BOY was that an experience!

Breakfast for dinner - scrambled eggs with red peppers, zucchini and avocado. Strawberries, walnuts and honeycrisp apple for dessert.

Last night I just had toast with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top, followed by a cinnamon applesauce cup.

The night before I had a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich.

Tonight I think I'm making Mushroom and Edamame Egg Fried Rice.

I think we're going the fried chicken route tonight,and I have some potato salad made...probably some sliced cucumber and onion s to go with.

I'm making gnocchi with mozzarella and parmesan in arrabbiata sauce. Something cool like sherbet for dessert.
