I'm in need of REAL pics of Bichons.....nothing like this one:

Cuz Iz ain't never gonna look like that!
Her hair is starting to grow out, but she's got super long hair on her head from her last butcher cut. Gonna haul her to a groomer soon, and need pics/ideas of what a Bichon should REALLY look like. None of this "summer cut" jazz.

This is the best pic I've got of her now:

Her hair is....weird.
This pic is probably the best comparison....kinda clumpy/stringy.

This is what SnowB looks like most of the time. When he gets groomed it lasts until he gets dirty again, which is very soon and then he just gets washed. Then he gets washed once a week and pretty much stays that way until he is groomed again.

Natalie can you resend your email.

OK, Izzy isn't ever gonna look all nice & fluffy like that.
Those dogs haven't got any legs & it looks like they have ice cream cones for heads!!

I want her coat longer, but a relatively easy to maintain clip, since I'll likely have to be grooming her myself a fair amount.
Her hair never really fuzzes out like the ones in the pictures!

That's what they are supposed to look like!!!
But yeah, it would be hard to maintain it, and you need someone that knows how to do it!

Ok, in my opinion Nat, your Iz looks more like a dog then they do. They look like something you would pick up at Hallmark for a 6 year old's b-day party and I'd be afraid to breathe on them much less touch them!

I'm guessing those pics are the best representation of what they "could" look like. For most full bred dogs, comparing the "ideal" to them is like comparing me to sport's illustrated swimsuit models. Yeah, that is the ideal...but, it just AIN'T gonna happen!

Unless you are planning on showing him, I would say just go with what works for him, what is easy to care for, and what makes him happy. I think he's adorable just as he is!
