My kitten is named Maverick. We found him on June 10. Took him to the vet a week later and said hes approximately 5 mo. He was 5lbs. I think he's about 6 now. His teeth are very sharp can/will puncture the skin. He loves pouncing, doing sneak attacks but psychs you out and slaps your cheeks. He loves kneading and goes wild when we feed him. He really loves to play and hunt but is very loving. Loves playing in the bath tub. The only reason I question what he is is because my friend has a tabby cat. Almost looks the same but he has such thick rough fur and the ears are not big like his. And the body shape is much different. Maverick is so soft, like silky smooth and his fur color is indescribable. He blends in with his surrounding. In the tub he turns a whitish color. In sun light he is more redish brown and creamy color and at night he turns so dark black. I think he may be mixed I am not sure. He's a stray kitten. Found him about a month ago. He's about 6 lbs now. Figured i would try this and see. Thank you very much :) All the photos are mostly from today.

He's so cute! He'd be called a brown broken mackeral tabby Domestic Shorthair. Tabby is a description of his coloring, not his breed, and brown broken mackeral means he's brown, with interrupted stripes. Domestic Shorthair would be his "breed", meaning he has mixed ancestry (like 95% of housecats).

Possibly black and silver mackerel. No near bengal ancestry - but MAY have some. A marbled bengal mated with a mackerel tabby may get these looks. Nice head, I mean.

Yeah, as StefanZ StefanZ suggested, no close bengal ancestors, but I do see some. He sems to have an undercoat, which bengals don't and his pattern is not bengal, but his face is. Those are, in my opinion, amazing and quite uncommon eyes, which would be accepted by the standard, and make him look so wild. His face profile is not as straight as it should be, but neither is my Freya's and she does have a nice pedigree, so nothing to say there. Nose and paw color are fine, and so is his body type. Does he have longer hind legs than his fore legs? Does his hair feel like a pelt coat when you pet him? Does his hair show some kind of glittery effect when exposed to sunlight? Does he make weird sounds that are kinda metallic?
If so, you may have a Bengal cross and, therefore, you probably want to bengal-proof your house assap. They tend to be good at opening doors. You may not be able to have a shower on your own, too.

I'm not thinking Bengal mix, but maybe a hint of Mau. abyeb abyeb , do you see on the top of his head how it looks like a scarab? (in picture 3) That is what I was trying to describe to you.
Although the scarab is there and the ears are correct, the eyes are all wrong for a Mau. Does he have shorter front legs and the primordial pouch? (flap of skin between hind legs and stomach area)
There may be a trace of Mau in his background.

We may both be right, as I have read that some breeders used Mau cats with foundation bengals. That would explain why are there so many bengal cats with big ears instead of the small ones that the standard claims, just like Freja's gigant wars (still praying for them to not grow any more so they look normal when the rest of her head grows).

Your cat is bengal, correct? I don't see any Mau traits in her.
She will probably grow into those ears. Many years ago I picked up a kitten. Big ball of fur with these giant ears, so naturally I named him Yoda. He grew into them.

Yeah, she is. I hope she will grow into them too; however, I have seen quite a lot of big ears on bengal breeders web pages, so I won't be totally sure until she is a year old or so, I guess. Her parents had correct ears, though, so I can have hope.
I didn't mean she looks Mau by any means, just that her ears' size was more Mau like than bengal like. I know there are some other big ears breeds, but I incidentally read a couple of articles about Maus being used in bengal breeding programs, so it came to my mind when you mentioned possible Mau influence in this cat that he could have both.
