What is this under my cats top lip?

So I have no idea what the heck this is and if I should book a vet appointment for tomorrow. My cat is a tortie and her mouth is multicolored so it's hard telling what you're looking at in the pictures. When she was chilling on the floor on her back she had her fangs poking out and I thought maybe her gums were growing over her fangs a little bit, so I lift her top lip up and I see this lump under her top lip and it has strings on it. It kind of goes over her fangs and that's why I thought it was her gums. I have no idea if this is an ulcer or something worse. I took some pictures and circled the area I'm talking about.

I did see that there is a thing they have called barbs under their top lip but I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking at because this thing sort of hangs over her fangs a little bit. Do you think this is worth a vet trip or does this look normal to you guys?

Here's the pictures without the white circles if it's easier to look at that way

It's hard to tell. If it's red or swollen call vet tomorrow. Try wetting it with a soft cloth

Thank you for the second set of pics, it was much easier to see what you were describing. It looks like the top canine is affecting the lower lip. I would recommend contacting your vet and asking if they have a dental specialist at their clinic also.
Best of luck, please keep us posted on her progress.:alright: BTW, welcome to TCS!

Like do you mean her fang is poking her bottom lip? And yeah I will make an appointment see what's going on with that. It's so hard to get a good picture with her because she hates being messed with 😔 I'll try to get some better pics later!

Is she eating less? Do you think she's in pain? Her fang may be loose and slipping out (that happened to my kitty). She may need a dental, but I'd get her to the vet soon to get checked out.

She eats all the time and constantly begs for food lol. She's on dry and wet. She doesn't seem like she's in pain but I know they can hide their pain well. I actually asked my vet a few months ago for a dental cleaning but they told me her gums looked beautiful and she didn't need one which I thought was weird because wouldn't they want my money? But yeah I have an appointment for next week! So I hope it's nothing bad

I have her on gabapentin when she has anxiety and yeah it knocks her out lol. I'll give her one tomorrow and try to get more pics, my camera sucks though. Maybe if I use flash I can get a more detailed picture because the ones I have up here are kind of blurry 😔

It looks to me like her bottom fang is slightly chipped at the tip. If this has left a rough edge it could be rubbing against her top lip and causing an ulcer.

Let us know how it goes at the vet.
