Hi, I know I'm posting in the wrong thread, apologies, however I have insufficient privileges to post in the correct one.

Q:
What is the difference between the CCA, CFA, and TICA? Is the CCA as reputable as CFA and TICA?

Apologies if my question is totally ignorant; I am completely new to the cat-showing or pet world.

Is there a difference if you buy from a breeder that registers their kittens, which they sell, with CFA vs one who registers with only CCA? I live in Canada.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to TCS! The main difference between CFA and TICA is the breeds they accept. CFA recognizes 42 cat breeds, and TICA 71. There are regional differences, too, as you have noted. CCA specializes as Canada’s own breed registry, like the ACFA in the US, LOOF in France, and the EFF in the UAE.
