Any ideas? I have read on cat asthma but he doesnt sound wheezy when doing this and doesn’t put his neck down the way asthma attacks are described? Any help thanks! He will be going to vet xx

this has happened about 4 times that I’ve seen and he is 17 weeks. So not frequent !

I have an asthmatic cat that has never done the classic "hunch" or extended his neck parallel to the ground while coughing. I have another who does--that one needs an albuterol rescue inhaler. The other cat has a lung-level asthma, not a bronichial/airway asthma like the other and he needs Fluoxitine (Flovent) steriod inhaler twice a day. The other cat only needs the inhaler when he's "flared up" and having an episode. The cat needing the daily Flovent has never sounded "wheezy", only "gurggly" like he's got a hairball in his throat--but it's not.

Definitely post a video if you can so we can see what's going on. I've learned not all asthma is the same, and it often manifests differently and needs different medication.
