Hello

My two little kittens, Sorry and Nala, are really turning heads these days, with people asking what breed they are. Some people are guessing Bengal, however, I see that as unlikely, seeing that we don’t have many Bengals running around. What we do know is that mum is a persian, dad is unknown. So the girls are street mix.

So, to my question, what would you call the color/pattern of their coat? I’ve had a brown tabby before, but nothing quite like this.

Agreed, brown torbie, classic (blotched) tabby pattern. I don't see anything indicating that they might have Bengal ancestry, it looks like a normal classic tabby pattern; you can see the "bullseye" on their sides in the pictures. Spots on the belly are a normal part of the tabby pattern.

I agree! :) Mum is a rusty red persian, so my guess is that this is what you get If a rusty persian has a flirt with a brown tabby. ;)

And thank you both. :) «Torbie» was a new pattern to me, but I googled it and it looks very much like my little bugs.

I've found, that with torbies/torties/calicos, the classic pattern seems to make their colors more vibrant. I'm not sure if that's actually a Thing or not, just my observation.

What lovely girls! I'm not surprised yiu get so many questions about them.
