What Breed Might My Cat Be?

Hi! Okay so I rescued my cat about a year ago. She was found in the snow, quite underweight. I've had her with me for a little over a year now. She was estimated to be roughly 2 years old when I rescued her and is now a little over 3 years old.

She somehow, from the time I brought her home with me until now has grown so much. I don't just mean gaining weight. She has grown in length, height, her hair grew out several inches, her face has changed shape mildly, and yes of course she has inevitable gained weight as well. She was about 8 lbs after gaining weight after I brought her home. She is now 16 lbs! It has been fun to watch her grow in to a beautiful ball of fluff however ❤

She has very long hair which seems to become much heavier or thicker in the winter months, and as soon as spring rolls around there will be massive amounts of hair on every possible surface of my house.

She has very long hairs on the inside of her ears, as well as black hairs extending from her ears tips. She also has very fluffy hind legs (although we did have to trim down a few spots that got clumped up from the litter box and matted spots), as well as her tail, and long hairs beneath and between all her little toes!

Here are some pictures of my baby girl, and of course, no matter her breed I love her just the same. I'm just quite curious, and would love to get other peoples opinions.

She is gorgeous! I would describe her as a brown tabby and white Domestic Longhair. I agree that she is a very nice lookalike to a Maine Coon. With her size, I think there is a good chance that she could have some Maine Coon ancestry for real. It’s not too common that we see female cats get in the 16 lb range.

Yeah shes pretty big, pretty much takes up the width of my twin bed, and somehow STILL growing. Theres so much cat too love
I had no idea there are cats at 3 years old or 2 for that matter that havent reached their full size yet!
And thank you! I'll be sure to give her the praise!

Thank you for your response! That's sort of where we landed with this, and my vet agrees. As none of use were expecting her to grow any more at 2 to 3 years of age

Here's a photo of her before she got so big
