Aww, sweet. We see deer going through our yard sometimes but never that close!

Mr Poe has been staring out the kitchen doors after dark. Last night Himself tiptoed in, kitchen lights still off, and turned on the outside light. And beheld a medium size, rather plump raccoon snuffling around under the bird feeders looking for spilled seed. If Mr Poe is staring into the dark I will tiptoe in tonight, to see what I might see.

You should get a camera for your back yard. You would probably be surprised at what shows up at night.
That would be a great investment!
I got motion lights, and they go off several times a night.

It's a possibility, iPappy iPappy But when I mentioned it to Himself he pointed out how frequently it would be activated in the daytime what with birds flying onto and off of the feeders. Plus he said that the trail cam down by the street is O.K. in the daytime but basically poor at night, responding to headlights and not too much else. While wildlife have reflective eyes (think cats with their tapetum lucidum) I don't know how well the animals would be revealed at night.)
