I wonder if the vet I saw that said she has a brain tumor is wrong? This condition happen in April and this was after her antibiotic shot.

She tumbles frequently though but her appetite is very good

Has she gone back to another dvm yet? I would think if she had a tumor it would be significantly worse by now. What condition does she have that causes seizures? I may have forgotten that, sorry. I am glad she is eating more now. 🤗

Idiopathic epilepsy seizures. Was diagnosed 2011 but no meds because it was 1 every 3 to 4 months. Then in 2019 I saw focal seizures, she got on meds in 2021 when she had 4 cluster seizures.

Even if I could see a specialist, I wouldn't be able to afford an MRI or cat scan.

I know you said they increased the meds for that. I hope it’s still helping.

Hi, I am so very sorry, I got confused with another post with a kitty that has fluid on the brain. I am so sorry.

Is your kitty still getting the Prednisolone? Are you extremely consistent with medication times?
Is she eating and drinking enough?
When you look at her eyes, do you see any nystagmus (eyes darting back and forth)? Are the pupils the same size?
Do you think the increase of phenobarbital is making her weak? Not that the dose should be lowered.

I am so sorry this is happening.
I want you to understand that even if you had the money for the MRI, it would only be information, not a cure. Also, she would have to have anesthesia for it and it sounds like that would not be a good idea. So please don’t feel like you aren’t doing enough.

Idiopathic epilepsy is so confusing because they don’t know what causes it and often times you never find out.
If this is in fact a brain tumor then I would think that continuing steroids like Prednisolone would be important.

I am so sorry you both are going through this.

Yeah I think the steroid helps her eat. I'm helping her often. I notice she was straining to poop. I wonder if she got weak to push stools out. Thought it was a uti episode but it was stools.
I have, no idea on whatever this is , is causing her weakness as she struggles to walk

Recently got me this platform bed. My cat doesn't need help getting on the bed 🥰
Love the shelf too. I qualify for a 3k credit but I'm scared on how much I have to pay back within a certain amount of time. If I did an MRI to find out if it's a brain tumor or not 😢
I have no idea what to do.

If it were to be a brain tumor, what would you or the vet do? When I have been in these positions, I have declined very expensive testing if there was no way forward or if it would not change anything that I would do. I used to do ultrasounds, etc just so that I would "know" what was going on, but stopped that a long time ago.

However, this is entirely your decision and you have to do what you feel is right for your baby.

She seems to be feeling fine. Because of her medication dosage that went up she does get tired. Still eating well. She has constipation problems so she's eating a bit of can pumpkin.

My vet said it's up to me if I want to do the test. Im afraid to know because there could possibly be hard to treat or her body may be to frail for surgery. I was told her immune system can be bad as she ages.

Ask the vet to be as specific as possible with any prognosis, risks, recovery, and length/quality of life.

No. I read up on it. It seems that it's 3-6 months. So far since this happen end of April I see no signs of pain. I wonder if it's ataxia is it called.
