Yes she had blood work and urine test. This happen when she had uti problems. Her liver was sort of okay. I'm thinking it could be conveia shot. I saw another vet because I wanted a 2nd opinion. I'll call my vet who gave her that antibiotic shot if it was a side effect that caused this
Ok. I would do another bw to see if she has anemia or anything else going on. Was the first bw good other than mild liver issues?

The one who gave her convenia may just say it wasn’t from that which is what many dvm do. So maybe ask both of them.
Dvm gave convenia for uti? Did she test pos for uti?

Signs of anemia are often pale gums, lethargy, weakness, sores, in the later phase breathing issues. It can show up in bw before clinical signs too.

Could it be caused by vestibular disease? I'm worried if her organs suddenly show up with failure within that short time. She had uti twice, it's because she kept spitting out her meds and my cat end up spitting out the pill without me knowing. I always stare at her to be sure she took her meds.
They were bigger than phenobarbital pill.

If she end up with bad liver or kidneys and need a special diet, how would I get her to eat it 😭
She wouldn't even touch her uti food or her fav food.

I don’t know, sorry 🤗 Vestibular disease is kind of a vague term, but I think it could cause some of her symptoms.

For instance I have vestibular migraines caused by low blood sugar, they seemed to start with a bout of bad vertigo which eventually resolved. Then I had pulsatile tinnitus briefly which resolved on its own. For various reasons I did not do all the testing for the pt at the time so I don’t know what caused that.

One doc thought the whole thing was caused by an ear infection. Ent said he thought it was vestibular migraines due to other symptoms like nausea and dizziness from a bright light blast etc. I had migraines for years usually without aura but had a long period of no migraines until the vertigo etc.

You can have non painful migraines. I usually had some neuro symptoms with migraines. Usually I have pain too.

Anyway, probiotics may help also if your cat is having a convenia reaction. Ask dvm about that if it is ok with her other issues, they are mostly harmless.

Here is more info… apparently it is very rare to have a tumor in cats that may be causing it, ear infections usually seem to be the cause.

There was no sign of an ear infection as I recall when I went to the doc with vertigo, but I had some nystagmus very briefly then so he assumed ear infection. At the time I had vertigo I had to stay home in bed for a few days and then could not drive for 2-3 weeks. I took the motion sickness drugs and something else but the antihistamines make me very ill and did not help much.

.

She has a seizure disorder too, so that may be involved in some way too or causing some it too maybe.

She ate well last night. Cleaned her bowl. I hope, this keeps up until I get her seen by a vet that may have answers and new blood work

Well today she wasn't hungry. Maybe she's picky. I don't know what to feed her 😭 she use to love aldis cat food, fancy feast, blue Buffalo.
She doesn't like forti flora. If it's the case of picky eater, then I have no idea what to feed her.

Maybe just try some other brands of canned foods. You can get the little cans and little sample ones and small amounts and give her some variety.

Well got blood work done. No idea if it be normal. But they told me just keep an eye on her. Nothing I can do 😞
Wish there was a fix for vestibular disease.
Still loss of balance. I guess if that's the case I'm going to make her comfortable as much as she can.
I'm an over worried person and seeing her age is not fun. She's 17 and made it this long😭

I bought these fancy feast food petite I think. Meant to get pate but she loves it. She hates chunky food but this one pleases her taste buds

That’s great! Are they going to give her an antibiotic for the vestibular issues?

No they didn't give it to me because they don't think it's an ear infection. 😭

Wish I knew. I wonder if she can still have nausea feeling or is the head tilt just the one permanent. It cost 20 dollars for 6 pills of nausea medication 😞 they are 3 pills cut in half.

Ask them what is causing this if not ear infection since that is the most common cause. If they give you an rx, you can get it much cheaper at a regular pharmacy with a goodrx coupon or at one of the animal sites that sell medications.

I told them if it was caused by that antibiotic shot. It could have caused it

I was suggesting since they told you it was not an ear infection to ask them what they think caused this and what can be done. I don’t see why they don’t just treat her with an antibiotic designed to treat ear infections and see if that helps. It’s been over a month I think since she had convenia according to what you said, I think, and convenia does not treat ear infections. It is actually only approved to treat a limited number of skin infections afak

I mentioned that you could try getting her IV fluids to flush it out of her system if it is the convenia. However, I think that’s supposed to be done sooner after the injection if that is the case.

The links I posted say that most cases of vestibular syndrome in cats go away on their own after three weeks or so.

Could it be a permanent thing? I'm going to try another vet. I had vertigo today and I was told congestion that caused my ears fluid but they didn't give me something for my ears but I got nausea medication. Seems I was mistreated like my cat.

I got a limit raise on my care credit so maybe it wont be costly I hope. Or maybe they will treat her well

Good idea to try another dvm. I am sorry you didn’t get an antibiotic. Vertigo can have many causes. It’s not always caused by an infection. I hope you feel better soon and your kitty too. 🤗
