Lol! Sorry to laugh but that is too funny. Thank you for the info It sounds like quite an experience. I'll be praying that she doesn't go into heat anytime soon! I want her to recover a bit before she has surgery. What is it like living with a cat in heat? Well...somewhat like standing inside the garage of a fire department with all the truck sirens going off at once. You'll hear, "Let MEOWT!" over and over again. When you explain that those tom cats will sweet talk, then leave her with a litter of kittens, alone, she'll reply, "I know that, but LET MEOWT! NAOW! NAOW! NAOW!" They become little Houdinis. And, in the case of one of my cats, I had to live in socks, because she would back up onto a toe until I could get her in for spaying (stray that I took in). THAT is unusual, however. You may not have to deal with any of it, due to her physical condition. That may very well suppress the heat cycles.
LORD, she is a lovely cat now. I can't wait to watch her recover, and come into her full beauty.
Thank you for the helpful information! She will be starting the pred tonight. She is not a fan of having her mouth or nose touched so it might be a struggle to get her to take it. Any suggestions for that?Intestinal lymphoma is often treated with prednisolone and I would definitely give that to her. I have given that to 2 of my cats who had intestinal lymphoma and both did well. The first one only received that and the second also received chlorambucil which is the standard medication for that condition, but in the case of your cat I would start with the pred and see where you get with it. IMO she is not in any condition to do invasive testing and it appears that none has been suggested, and I would not worry about doing a CT.
Pred will often stimulate the appetite. There are appetite stimulants such as Mirataz, but if she is vomiting simply making her hungry will only take you in a circle.
Many people here have used S Boulardii which is a probiotic which often helps with diarrhea.

Sometimes plain canned pumpkin will help. Not pumpkin pie filling.
I would not put her to sleep at this point. You, of course, are there with her and can see if her quality of life is declining, but I would definitely start the pred and stay in touch with the vet.
Thank you! I'm going to give some of those tips a shot. Fingers crossedI would be concerned if she does not start to eat. Keep the vet posted on that. She is your cat, and as such you have a right to ask for help with her care. The vet does not have to agree with what you are doing and you don't have to agree with the vet.

How Can I Give A Pill To My Cat? [Stress-Free Techniques] - TheCatSite
I assume that this is a pill? Pred can be split or crushed although it may make her food less appealing. If you can crush it, you can try to give her small amounts of wet food or a pill pocket or pill masker with it. It is not ideal to crush medication as the dose becomes uncertain, but in your case I think it is more important that she be given the pred as best you can.
I took her into the bathroom with me while I showered last night and had my husband do the same! It seemed to help her nose a lot!Do I remember you saying something about a stuffy nose? That could keep her from eating. Try going in the bathroom with her, and running the shower full hot for several minutes, as the two of you sit OUTSIDE the shower. The steam can work wonders.
Also, if you crush the pill and mix it with wet food (something YUMMY), then smear a bit on her lips, she will almost certainly lick it off. It will take a good while, but she'll get the meds. It may also trigger her to eat.
She is drinking water. No food at all though. I even put some wet food in her mouth and she spit it out. I can try to syringe feed her a bit but i'm not sure she will even swallow it. I just gave her the first steroid dose. I'm praying it will make her eat.I know that desperate feeling when a cat just will not eat. Is she drinking water? I would try some Churu or any squeeze up treat, or the delectable stews, You may have to syringe her food, just a little bit at a time.I really wish your vet had done this for you and given her the first steroid dose.
Did either vet tell you how old she is ?
