Dont worry, i am protecting them. The cats mostly go out when i am down there. I thought his obsession with them would lessen over time, but it hasnt at all. He cant hear or see them without chasing after them. He is so obsessed he even imitates her. Goes around meowing and climbing the places she climbs. I was talking to my sister and she mentioned she heard that one of the cats scratched my nephew, and i explained what was going on. Surprisingly she told me she didnt like that the baby was chasing down the cats, and that she would try to correct him when she comes down. I was expecting her to act like everything is the cats fault.

I dont know what to do anymore. Every time i have taken my cats to my room (when i fumigate or need them somewhere safe) my cat Kitty loses her mind. She cannot stand being locked up. Thats really the only solution have her be miserable in a tiny room. I have spoken to my niece and she tells him something when he bothers the cats, but shes not good at disciplining him. He is very spoiled and doesnt listen to her. Not sure what i will do, but i am keeping an eye on the cats for now.

Remember how my sister was going to secretly cut my nieces hair? My SIL texted me that shes given up and decided to take her daughter to a salon. I am so relieved! She says it will be a birthday gift. Thankfully abbys birthday will be here in a couple of weeks. Shes going to have a pixie cut, so its going to be such a relief for her to have all that hair gone.

Oh no! I am sorry about your car. It is always frustrating when expenses like that crop up. Car repairs are not cheap. I hope it didnt affect you too badly. I was able to get my battery replaced for free. But toyota keeps telling my i need to replace my tires, and my brakes. The brakes dont respond as well as they used to.

My brother has been telling me for a year that he would fix it for free. But kept saying the car could wait a while. I sent him two texts asking what would be a good time to take it and he never responded. I dont know if i should call him, as i dont like begging people for help. If i ask for help and i am ignored, i prefer to just leave things as is.

i tried the baby asprin and my pressure wouldnt go down. It was constantly at 160/100 so i gave in and started the medication. I am feeling better and the huge headaches i would have in the morning are gone. The medicine made me feel woozy for a couple of days, but i am feeling much better now.
Hope you feel better on the medication soon. No wonder your blood pressure is high, in your situation, though!
Do you have vertical cat furniture in your room that Kitty can climb, maybe in front of a window so she can look out at what's going on in the world? When you don't have a lot of space, the answer is to build up. Cats like to climb and perch. So if you can do something like that, it may help her. The Feliway spray or plug-ins may help as well.
Well, I don't envy the salon person that has to deal with that hair, but it can't happen too soon, right? Hope to hear it's been done next time. Your niece will be so much happier without that mess.
As for your nephew, he urgently needs other distractions. Reading is a great one. TV and computer games and stuff like that are okay, too -- just anything to distract him. Does he go outside in the yard and play? It's unconscionable for him to be bothering the cats. That needs to stop.

Where is Stardust? Is he with you? You're never alone with CATS! My Elvis is my CEO. He's almost always on my lap when I work. He's here right now, purring (and hoping dinner is better than lunch, which he didn't like). Have a great evening!

Yay for your niece's upcoming hair cut. Although until it happens, I'll worry someone will change their mind.

It was a painful amount of money, especially as I'm not currently working, but it was doable. A few of the repairs did end up being free because I brought it to the Chevy dealer and a few things were under a...not quite a recall, but something like that. Generally if you can find a small independent place they'll do repairs for cheaper than the dealer, but we hadn't found a place out here yet and I'd wondered if any of my issues would be covered by the recall thing, so that's why I did it that way. I relate to how you are with your brother. I never like to push and feel like I'm bothering people either, and that leads me to not getting my needs met, so I'm working on pushing a little more.

Ooh, yeah, that sounds pretty high, the medicine is probably a better idea in that case. I'm glad your headaches are gone and you aren't feeling so woozy anymore.
I know what you mean, i won't stop worrying until her hair is cut. Which should be soon. Her birthday is next saturday.

I'm glad you were able to get free repairs, but sucks it ended up being expensive. The simplest thing costs so much money on a vehicle. And dealers really do up the price. I know i need to ask for help more, but I've had family help me and then insult me for asking them for help. Being called a leech makes me want to do things on my own, even to my own detriment.

That's great news. It will be such a relief for your niece, and I'm sure the pixie cut will look cute.

How old is he? Could you put up a baby gate to separate out a space bigger space than just your room for your cats?
hes 2 years, he only goes outside for a daily walk. He mostly plays inside with his toys. His mom is afraid to take him anywhere.

my niece is creating a 2nd play area up here and the room next to mine will be his room soon. So i can't really expand.

To be honest, i really don't want the hassle of having them in my room. I have allergies and kitty gets litter everywhere even if i clean it twice a day. She also hates being locked up and she races me to my bedroom door to get out. I've locked them in my room a few times.

They also don't let me sleep and i struggle badly with sleeping as is. Unless i lock them up and start sleeping downstairs so i don't go in and out of my bedroom. That's the only solution i can think of.

He plays in the living room where their trees are located. And he's getting the bedroom next to mine and the area up is his play area.

I might talk to my sister to talk about solutions. I try to avoid going downstairs because they start roaming as soon as I'm down there.

I'm just tired. I want peace and quiet and this just adds stress. It's 4 am and have been up for 2 hours. Sometimes i wish i could get in my car and leave everyone and everything behind.

Even my niece abby has been demanding more attention lately so I'm driving every weekend to see her. I dont mind seeing her, but the hour drive gets to me. Plus she only likes playing this one game(roblox) which i don't have patience for.

Just tired of making everyone else a priority and spending all my time stressed and worried. I know that makes me sound selfish, but the last two places I've lived I've had to deal with issues with family and issues with the cats and I'm just sick of it.

I talked to my sister this morning. Sent her paragraphs talking about this by text. :sigh: I told her this needed to be resolved. That if she wanted me to lock up the cats and i start sleeping in the living room that i was willing to do that. With my insomnia, i cant sleep in the same room as the cats. They wont let me sleep.

i told her i was worried about the baby and my cats. I spoke to my niece again this morning and told her, again, that she needs to teach her son how to respect the cats. And she had the gall to say that "they need to get used to it." I barely slept last night trying to come up with a solution and she acts like this.

There are moments i wish she would just disappear. I love her dearly and she can be a great person. But she can be entitled and self absorbed. She has no idea how to discipline her child. All she does is yell and him and things he will understand her. I like living in peace so its frustrating living with someone that you have to baby to get them to listen to you.

I dont like throwing things in peoples faces. But shes incredibly lucky that i help her. I am one of the few people that helps with the things the baby needs. I lend her my car because she doesnt have one. It feels like a slap in the face that she half heartedly stops her son when hes harassing my cats. She puts in a slight effort and then shoos them away.

Just not in a good mood. I stayed up for hours last night trying to figure out how to fix this. I really hope my sister is able to fix this. She knows i dont complain unless its something serious. So i think she'll take it serious.

I texted my brother to see when he plans to start working on my room in his property. :flail:I truly cannot wait, and hope he really does build it. I heard rumors from my dad that my brother spent all the money he borrowed in fixing his house. So, i dont know when, or if, he will start on the room he promised me.

She needs to let her son outside more often for one. I mean, you live in FL, it's not like it's cold amd would require a ton of bundling like up here, and it would help him get out sone energy.

And honestly, I'd stop letting her use the car. It's a liability - if she got in an accident or pulled over and wasn't on the insurance, you'd be the one on the hook. Especially because she won't even do the bare minimum to help with the cats. I mean, if your nephew has like three different areas that are his, there's no reason he needs to be in the same one as the cats most of the time if he's not ready to respect them.

I wish I was a millionaire and could get you your own little place.

I know. Shes just lazy. I try to take him for occasional walks, but she puts off taking him outside. She wants to sit on her butt, and let him play with his toys. She will occasionally take him outside, but its not an every day thing. Ive given her the advice to take him out more, and so has her mom. But she doesnt really like listening to people.

I know its a risk to lend her my car. But my mom would have wanted me to help her, thats the only reason i try my best to help her. Even with her nasty attitude, my mom loved her very much. She has a special connection with her due to the health issues my niece had as a child. The way i got my license was because my sister in law took the risk of letting me use her car. Her insurance could have been ruined if i wasnt careful. I am very grateful to her for that.

Theres only three people i trust with my car, and no one else. Thankfully she doesnt use it much and goes close by. I have been saying no to her lately to save on my gas. Have to save money unfortunately.

I dont want to get to the point that i start becoming like her just to spite her. I know shes not helping me the way i am helping her. But i dont want to go down to her level of pettiness. I am hopeful my sister will help me. Shes the only one that can get my niece to listen. I dont want to stress because my pressure isnt going down much. If it comes to it, i will just lock up my cats and sleep in the living room.

And thank you for your kindness. Just the fact that the thought crossed your mind to want to help me shows that you have a big heart. That means a lot to me. :heartshape: :heartshape: :heartshape:

I understand not wanting to go down to her level, and I'm possibly extra petty because of being hormonal. At the very least, she should give you $5 for gas money every time she wants to use your car. It's only a little, but would help you save.

I really hope your sister is able to help somehow. You really deserve to have less stress.
