Usually your cat will be vaccinated with a series of two or three combination shots for FVRCP, and will have a rabies shot after he or she reaches 6 months of age. After that, he/she should get another set of boosters after one year. (There is a 3-year rabies vaccine available then, but not until they have had the one year vaccine at least once and it is still current.) Many of us feel it is best to have the rabies vaccine at a different time than the FVRCP vaccine as it is less stressful on the cat. Depending on your situation and your vet's advice, you may vaccinate less than once a year in the future, but you will never vaccinate MORE than once a year.
