Hi we will be going away a week( longest I will have been away from my cat) I have a sitter coming once a day and got an automatic cat feeder to help. I recorded my voice and have been testing it out. My question is do you think hearing my voice when I’m not there will upset her. She naps and sleeps on me and I’m already having anxiety about leaving her. She knows the sitter and likes her.

I don't think the voice will bother her too much. I think a lot of animals can tell the difference between real voice and recorded. Or they at least learn the difference. I always get anxious leaving the cats when I go on vacation too, but I remind myself that the cats will be cared for and fine. I feel like I have to really enjoy this time when the cats are young and healthy too. It is a lot more stressful leaving when they need meds and stuff. So take a deep breath, remind yourself that things will be fine, and enjoy your vacation. You deserve it.

Hi. I agree with leaving your worn, unwashed clothing out for your cat while you are gone. The other thing you might consider is using timers for lighting, TV/music, if these are things your cat is used to having on at time when you are home.
