Has anyone used a UV light to identify where a cat may have urinated outside the box, if so do they work? Also I am looking for an enzyme cleaner that does not have a scent to it, any suggestions? I have used Nature's Miracle but I can't stand the smell of it and I cannot find the unscented version.

Thanks

I have a small UV flashlight for finding kitty urine stains. It works!

I use Anti Icky Poo enzyme cleaner (yes, I know, stupid name :) ). I’m pretty sensitive to strong smells, but this doesn’t bother me. It’s not a strong odor and the smell dissipates quickly. Works pretty well, too.

The only downfall with UV lights is that many cleaners will also 'light up' in areas where they have been used. So, then you don't know if it is a new pee event or an old one that has been cleaned.

I used Vetoquinol "The Equalizer". It sprays on and doesn't need to saturate the area to remove the smell and stain. I never even noticed a smell with it, but that doesn't mean someone else might not.

I use UV light as well and echo the cleaners. It also will pick up some paints so I have one wall that lights up entirely. But there are also some foods and liquids that will light up (ketchup, some oils, etc).

The UV light for me is more helping me find a spot when I smell but don't see it. Also, to check if I cleaned it well enough when I do find it (my cleaner for enzyme cleaning doesn't UV).

I bought the uv light from PetSmart. It works pretty well.
I have tan /natural weird mixed colored tile on top of bad/ little lighting— and it’s impossible to pee and clear vomit sometimes. My oldest is in renal failure and drinks tons of water so her pee is usually concentrated and not always easy to catch by smell.
I am extremely sensitive to smells. I tried NM , omg. I’ve learned the hard way and only test stuff outside now.
I’ve resorted to cleaning up the pee with water, letting a water soaked paper towel lay in the grout for about an hour then using Clorox wipe. If it’s an old pee spot , I’ll use a toothbrush with water first. I have yet to find a chemical I can handle the smell of.
