Urinary Cat Food

Should it make my cats more thirsty? Seems like on the new food they're going thru way more water. Is that the purpose of the food? I feel like this is a stupid question.

I think the urinary food is designed to make them a bit thirsty so they drink more and thus pee more. It has had this effect on my cat anyway.

Dry but I have been giving wet not urinary too

I will never understand the logic of giving cats with urinary problems dry food and loading it with salt so that they drink water.

I've just started giving one of mine urinary food both wet and dry but dont see any difference in the amount he is drinking and he pees less. Dont know if there is a period of adjustment while the body adapts to the new food.
