They are just about 2 months old now!!!
Both are leading beautifully, pick their feet up, load in the trailer, fairly easy to catch, and of course beautiful!

Here's the little Palomino filly Jazzy. She finds EVERY mud pile in the feild to roll around in

And as always, she's with both mommies

And Tora, our buckskin filly. She's growing up beautifully! And she got 2nd place for my sister at the 4-H horse show!

Trying to take mommy's saddle off

She's HUGE!!! I'm 5'6'' so you can imagine how tall she is!

A perfect match!

All done!

That is my favorite place in the world to be
If I could make a living with horses that would be my job, but sadly around here, that's not going to happen.

So sweet!

Cute little dog too!
What's he/she called?
She is a big girl! It's too funny to watch them try to eat anything off the ground because they can't reach it without bending their legs.

The dog is Knockout (because of her "black eye")
She's loads of fun and is great with the horses. She's got blue healer in her and she just loves horses, and mud

Good luck! We all love her! The judge even told us she was her favorite filly, but the win had to go to an older more filled out colt
I don't know how you can have a weanling (6 months old) in JULY in our area
I wouldn't want a fragile baby horse born in January (-30 degrees and snowy). *sigh* oh well.

Being as though we're on the subject of babies, here's a little foal who lives not too far from me. I've named him Tufty

And my mates' horse has had a foal too, but I can't find the piccie and I don't want this to happen!! ===

A lot of people love the little Palomino. She's a doll!
If I had my own place I would love to keep her, but I don't think that will happen for a couple more years when I'm done with college.

haha, in that case maybe I'll hijack the thread for some local babies from around where I live, their three quarter horse babies....

Or some not-so-babyish pics of the young horses I'm working with, a yearling, a few three your olds, 4 year old, etc.

Oh yes, I could do a lot with a hijacked horse thread

Your beautiful baby horses are getting so big!
They are both so cute!

That is so funny that the lighter colored baby gets the dirtiest, it always seems to be the lighter the coat color, the dirtier the horse will be!

Thanks for posting some new photos of your little fillies.
It's nice to see Auntie Bonnet is still enjoying her babies too!

You know, it's true! The light colored horses LOVE mud!
They're the ones that stain!

"Auntie Bonnet is still enjoying her babies"
She sure is! Jazzy, the palomino, spends equal time with both moms! It's so cute! Holly will let Jazzy come all the way to the end of the 10 acre pasture with me and Bonnet! It's really neat to see.

I was going to ask one of your folks what they call a horse with the light body and dark tail/mane. There is one in a field that I pass each day to and from work and it is beautiful. It's similar to a palomino except instead of blonde tail/mane the tail/mane is dark.

That would be a buckskin!!! That's what Tora is!!! (she just needs to shed out)

Does the horse look like this? This is Tora's daddy, Cash Beats All

If the horse doesn't have a black mane and tail, then it's a dun. A Duns tail and mane are a few shades darker than their body hair.

Oh yes! He/she looks very much like that with the exception that the body is a bit lighter - more like a palomino colour. So striking with that dark mane and tail. I love horses and enjoyed them vicariously when our daughter was young and into riding. It was no hardship for me to accompany her to the barn 3 or 4 times a week.

I love buckskins
I crossed all crossables that we would get a buckskin!!! When she first came out I was CRUSHED because she was still wet and she looked like a red bay, which is what her mommy is. An hour later once she was dry, I couldn't stop screaming!

Cash is a bronze buckskin so he's darker with a brilliant shine. I love the light colored buckskins too!

No kidding!!! The stud fee was really cheap because he wasn't a proven breeder. My god am I happy we bred to him!!!! Every week a little more hair is shed out and you can see what color she's going to be. It's a brilliant bronze with glittery hairs just like poppa!!!!
You have no idea how excited I am for her to shed out all the way!
