I went out with my camera yesterday!!!

They are getting so big! I've started putting bareback saddles on them to get them used to being cinched and having something on their back. Of course I've been leading them, brushing them, picking up their feet, etc.

Here's a couple of the heard

Jazzy is really playful

Tora.....isn't she GORGEOUS!!! I knew she would turn out nicely!

With my little sister

One with me

Horses just love attention! Can you tell we beat them every day?

A nice picture of my sister and Tora

Look how light Jazzy is!!!

Jazzy really loves people

Jazzy

Look at Tora next to mom!!!

Tora

Look! She has greyish blue eyes!!!! Isn't that wild?!

Being a pain to mom....

And one nice shot of Bonnet

I know it! I'm not 100% sure, but I think Palominos are one of those horses that continue to darken up as they get older.....I don't know for sure though. Maybe someone on here will know something about it.

I know it's amazing isn't it!!! We have to enjoy their beauty now. When they hit the yearling stage they trun "ugly". Lol. Like our teenage years!

You can tell Tora's groing a little funny already. Their butt will grow then their front end will grow, then their head with grow, or not grow for a while. They look really funny from about 1 year to 2 years, until they really grow into themselves.

You wanna ship Tora to MN??? Lol!! She's gonna be a big beautiful girl when she gets older! Gosh I wish I had time, finances and a trailer...I'd come and get her in a heartbeat! Now that Pride is well on his way in training, I could handle starting a new one, along with continuing to finishing him...Oh if wishes were realities sometimes...*sigh*

Any horse can change from year to year...most though, are more subtle; palominos and greys can be much less subtle...If your filly didn't have that grey nose, and shading around her eyes, she'd be considered a cremello and not a palomino, she's that light...but that could change; next year she could be a dark golden palomino...you just never know until they have their first big shed.

That's what I was wondering. When she was born I thought for sure she was a cremello, she had that pumpkin colored skin till she was about a week old. She's so weird with the cremello hair and palomino skin...

Heck yeah!!! If you could figure out a way to get her over there, she'd be yours in a heart beat. Now, Tora on the other hand....

Tora is lovely of course but I'm very partial to palominos.
I've found that there are a lot of people who are really partial to palmoinos, that's ok with me, because she's the one that needs a home!

I think Bonnet is beautiful! What kind of horse is she, and what colouring would that be? I'm not familiar with horses at all

Anyone who knows horses would call her a paint, because of her coloring, but she's not registered so she would technically be a mutt
She could be a quarter horse paint, that's the most common breed in our area that can be paint, but she's built rather small. I've never had anyone tell me she was one breed or another. Just paint
To describe how small she's built, if I stand in front of her chest her shoulders are no wider than my hips, and I'm an average sized female.

Her coloring if you want to get anymore technical than paint would be a Tovero because of the pattern and color. It's a mix between the most common: Overo and Tobiano

Overo: she has a "bonnet" across her ears/head, and her pattern is shattered-unlike tabiano paint with solid patterns.

Tobiano: her legs are all white-unlike overo paints, her markings don't cross the spine-unlike overo paints, and she has chest and flank markings,

Tovero: she has dark skin around her markings, her muzzle and face markings have very noticeable dark skin surrounding them, she has one blue eye, she has chest spots and flank spots, and a spot at the base of her tail which colors her tail brown instead of white like her main.

a link to a great site, with pictures, if you're interested.

Oh and thank you for saying she's beautiful
She hardly ever gets compliments from people who see her in person because she had a terrible accident a few years ago and fractured her skull in a couple places and lost the bone above her eye. In the accident she severed the nerves and whatnot you need for your eye to work properly. She's pretty much blind in her blue eye and can barely open that eyelid.

I just have creative picture taking skills, that's why you can't really tell

Actually a lot of people had said mean things about it!!!!
poor Bonnet. It's a super long story, but to make it short it took her four months to heal. The first 3 weeks we went out to soak and clean her face four times a day, then the next two months we went out twice a day to soak and clean her face. She had a bloody nose for an entire week at one point in there, and then she started getting an infection deep inside of her head/under her skull. We took her to a horse surgery specialist two hours away and she spent two nights and three days there. She had X-rays, was put to sleep enough to knock her down, they laid her on a table that raised up from the floor (with tons of what I would call wrestling mats all over the floor) so when she fell the could just raise her up on that table for surgery. It took her a total of 4 months to heal! And the saddest part about the whole thing. When we got our bill from the horse surgeon the bill was $256!!!!! That's WAY cheap! He told us to call him a week later and update him. When we did, and told him she was doing fantastic, he said he didn't charge us hardly anything because he didn't think she was going to make it! He didn't want us to be stuck with a huge bill for a dead horse! I couldn't believe it! I cried and cried because I was so happy, and I was the only paying the bill since it was my horse. The surgeon also said he didn't want to tell us she might not make it because he didn't want us to give up, Bonnet needed everything we could give her! She was 18 years old back then, so you could imagine it would be harder for her than a horse half her age.

That's one reason I love her more than anything. She was a real fighter and she really understood that we were there to help her and love her the rest of her life.

Here's a couple pictures so you can see what I'm talking about. These were from this last winter. I pick and choose pictures to post because I know she looks odd. But I couldn't love her anymore.

This one you can see the second spot she fractured her skull. About smack dab in the middle where there is a spot of no hair.

I won't post the other pictures because they are absolutely disgusting. Her face, eye area, was literally hanging of her face when I found her. And we still have pretty much no clue what could have caused all that damage, the vets didn't know either, way too much damage to have been caused by other horses without shoes.
