My poor little girl had to have emergency surgery a couple of weeks ago because she was severely constipated and they thought it might be a foreign object. Luckily it wasn't (we still don't know the cause) but we're so happy we didn't wait for things to get worse before bringing her to the vet! She's a strong little girl and is almost completely healed now and got this pesky cone off last week! Now we're just trying to get her all groomed since she got VERY matted in the period where we couldn't groom her.

Aw. Did the vet suggest megacolon or ask you to give your cat anything to prevent a reoccurrence of her constipation?

How did you notice it? Was it a lack of poo in her litterbox, or was she acting weird?
