My wife and i are planning a move in late winter/early spring from NJ to Ohio. Probably March. is it best to drive our cats there or fly them? Which is safer and healthier for them? It would be about 12 hours driving or 2 hours flight time (plus getting them to and from the airport etc)

Either way, does anyone have any tips for traveling that distance with cats?

I have not personally flown with animals but some of our friends recently did, they took them on the plane and put them under the seat for the 2.5 hour flight. They got a mild sedative from the vet and the only 'not great' thing that happened was one of their kitties yowled during take off and approach. Though the cat that did it isn't very loud, probably didn't bug anyone more than a fussy child.
