How are you doing?
I'm doing okay. My cat though is doing the best he has in a few weeks now. He's eaten and drank more today than he has in quite some time, and seems the most energetic he has in quite awhile. I hope I can make him one of those FIV+ cats that live for years. Clearly the ulcers are are not a problem anymore for him, as he's eating hard food again as much as he did before.

Excellent news! This can be managed, and he may live out a full lifespan. It is not unheard of!
Does the fact he had ulcers mean it progressed a lot? Or is just a more minor thing associated with FIV? He's doing really good now though, eating and drinking plenty, energetic and upbeat.

It comes under the heading of "Just One More Thing." He may have a variety of issues here and there, most can be managed. And he really should have far more good days than bad days, between bouts.
