I found my Timoteo dead this morning. I have cried a lot now and even now tears pool and want to spill down my face.

It looks like he might have had a heart attack. He did not display any symptoms of disease or any troubling signs that I was capable of discerning.

He found my backyard short of two years ago, and I opened myself to helping him and loving him. His eyes were round and wide and innocent almost like a doll's eyes, which I found both endearing and creepy. Why such eyes I would ask him? Where are your cat eyes my darling?

He was a cat who I think was sometimes surprised that he was a cat as he found himself chilling and relaxing with those around him. He was always asking for love, and he was sometimes hard to love as he had a bit of street about him still. He would swipe at my feet for food (we never got that quite worked out). He was so smart and observant and lovely and I loved him.

May he rest in peace in eternal light and may he forgive my failings.

I'll try to post a picture later.

I am so sorry for your loss of Timoteo. I don't know how old he was, but given that you were only able to care for him to a couple of years, you really know nothing about his past, his death could have been from most anything including old age.

I am sure he never thought of you as having any failings, as you took him in, loved and cared for him, and he got two wonderful years being able to experience those things with you.

Look forward to seeing a pic of Timoteo, when you get the chance.

What a beautiful boy! The loss will leave a huge hole in your world, it can overwhelm you at times and seem neverending. Time is the only thing that helps with loss, it dulls the sharp edges of grief and eventully your pain will morph into being grateful for having him in your life. You gave him what he wanted most in this world, a home and the love he needed so badly. That love is spiritual, so eternal. "Death cannot take that which never dies." Your love will be tied to both your souls until the day you die. Do not think of being a failure, to him you were everything. Not one of us is perfect. If mistakes were made, use them to form your future. He would like nothing more than for you to pass on his legacy of love, to use what he taught you. To be remembered and loved after death is a great honor. For now, the loss is overwhelming, just take each day as it comes, and live not in the past, and not trying to see into a future we have no control of, Just take one step at a time, one day at a time. His love will guide and comfort you.
You will be blessed for loving him as much as you do. You shared a love that few experience. He is at peace because he carries that love.
Take care and know we grieve along with you, we understand the pain of loss, we have stood where you do now and understand how much it hurts. Be strong, my friend........RIP precious Timoteo. You will never be forgotten, you will always haev a secure place in a loving heart. May the good Lord bless and hold you in His loving arms, until you meet again1

I am so sorry for the loss of the handsome Timoteo. He was quite a pretty cat!
It seems almost cruel that sometimes, we don't meet them until they're adults. For us, it's lost time with them but for them, those years with us are the best of their lives because they know how loved they are.
Rest in peace, sweet Timoteo. :angelcat:
