They're on Amazon, too, apparently. They just happened to be a Costco impulse buy for me, so that was my first thought. Lelia also really likes the churus. They put something irresistible in those lickable cat treats.
I see why you mentioned Costo,I found them and super expensive compared to Churo - my friend shops at Costco,I might take a ride when she goes - I really need every penny for upcoming tests for Timmy etc.....

artiemom artiemom Timmy hates pill pockets, greenies etc..... I bought Churu bites and between those and digging put Temptations I van manage to sneak about 25mg in on him

Timmy chews everything, won't swallow anything without chewing it to bits and he can find the teeniest piece of something he doesn't like ,spit it out and treat time is over....I try again in an hour and it goes on for 4 or 5 hrs.... I'm doing my best,he is the most difficult cat to fool I've ever encountered my entire life- and to pill him or give liquid is not possible-- you guys know me,I never say " impossible" or " cant"....

My mother used to say 'Cant means I don't want to' but I guess that may not be understandable to some. In context it made a lot of sense.

I have been following Timmy's story and wanted to mention a method I used in the past to get a cat to take a pill. Blue cheese dressing! Crushed the pill, mixed it into a blob of the dressing, maybe with a small lump of the cheese, and one of my cats licked the whole thing down in seconds! So if you happen to have any blue cheese dressing in the 'frig, maybe put a bit on your finger to see if Timmy loves it the way my cat did!

That's my thinking - and I do despise that word ....I've not figured out what to do yet and it's getting to me

You're very sweet- sorry to say he doesn't like blue cheese.... or butter or cream cheese or anything so far and just now- Greek yogurt is added to the looooong list of Timmy's dislikes😞

Pretty sure when you gave me many links last year but I'll look to see.... I believe you gave me the video on Temptation sandwiches which so far has helped get some mgs in him...

Thank you,I appreciate..... a friend told me to pick up some fortiflora and put on top of dosed food ,even kibble with bitter meds inside caps( like gabapentin)

Timmy is difficult to feed,period....it's not easy,it's not been easy since day one He eats like prey, ready to bolt at any moment.... many days I bring his uneaten food into the living room for when he lies next to me to eat on my lap

Ruby hated being restrained in any way, so was impossible to pill by holding her, so when she needed to go on thyroid meds I was certain I'd never get them in her. But that Temptation sandwich trick worked like a charm. Eventually I no longer needed to carve out the Temptation treat, though, and would take a small piece off a pill pocket and wrap it around the pill and then coat it with either fortiflora or crushed Temptations or a combo of both. It worked for gabapentin too. But Ruby just swallowed the "treat" whole, so I don't think she realized it was hiding a pill.

Poor Timmy. How old do you think he is? And how long has he been inside now?

He was 8 in August..... he's been inside 18months now

Yes,you told me about those sandwiches for precious Ruby and what a Blessing ..... and yes,it's a problem the boy chews ,once he gets a taste the party's over and I have to switch to a Churo bite sandwich as he will not go for another Temptation.... so coating with Fortiflora might help a third or 4th sandwich!

That's just like Graycie, she's my only one that fusses to get pilled but easy to fool with treats cause she swallows them and is a treat monster!

I have nothing really to add...with Nobel I had to forcefully pill him...right up until he watched Magnus take it easily! Then I could just give liquid meds (slowly, he would just lick the syringe) and give a treat after.

Magnus I've always done: Churu, pull, churu on top. He frequently misses eating the pill the first time and then I just put more Churu and away he goes. But always show him. I'm not hiding it. He knows I'm just making it taste better.

Ghost and Cal have only ever had pills less than 5 times each and I did similar. But the last gabapentin I just popped into Ghost's mouth suddenly and walked away. He was surprised and swallowed.

Do keep talking to Timmy and tell him it's to help him feel better. Who knows? It might help.

Reading this thread I remembered seeing that WHISP (it's an international animal rescue group, I saw rescuing pets from Monserrat when it was evacuated for the volcano. The initials maybe wrong) used sardines to entice dogs and CATS. Then I thought, okay Timmy chews everything carefully, probably from when he once swallowed something bad by accident. Sardines had eatable bones in them, cats and people can eat those bones. If he likes sardines, he would accept the bones in them as part of the deal. It might be possible to sneak a pill in that way. If he actually chews up the pill, then I can't imagine how you'd disguise it, except sardines are a pretty strong taste.

Sometimes I think he likes poultry better than fish, probably " rat" would be his favorite,it was very difficult getting him to eat cat food - he did well for a short time,I suspect other issues too

Chews n chews n chews - he has from day one and he has good teeth..... sardines, mackerel, tuna & even anchovies all get that turned up nose...it's been awhile,I can try again- you know cats, today they won't look at it but tomorrow they'll like it😵💫
