Well, thunder started again,it even startled me & I could care less about thunder cracking....but Timmy flew into position,I'm glad he seeks refuge in me and doesn't go hiding someplace alone and terrified.......that tells me alot about his trust in me although I'd like him to be a bit more independent for his own good

He squeezed himself under my arm an between me and the pillows I was resting so nicely on- lol

The arch nemesis!
Such a lovely surprise👌

This should be encouraging to whoever has 2 cats that do not get along- eventually they WILL if YOU do not accept discord..... nice when your training finally " clicks"

'Organized activity aiming at imparting instruction to improve the recipients performance to reach the level of desired results" my definition of " training" ❤❤❤

Keep at it!!!

Yesterday I got a very pleasant surprise.... Timmy was napping on the ottoman and Bella was on my lap,she got up, walked across the couch over to Timmy( woke him),and was grooming his head and face- Timmy was totally enjoying it( made me very happy)

Then Bella turned to walk back to me and I saw Timmy going to nip her back leg(lol) so I just said" HEY" to distract Timmy .Bella was completely unaware or she would've reacted...it's really nice to see Timmy getting groomed by either Sami or Bella - I am looking forward to the day he returns the gesture..... that will thrill me!

Timmy's new thing is rubbing his face all over my face-and also kneading my leg but his claws are like little swords again so I'm actually thinking about taking him to the Vet again to get trimmed- he gets stuck in the leather couch he likes to scratch, front room carpet and throw blankets go with him when he hops off the ottoman..... hate to put him through the ordeal but I'd rather not be the bad guy and just get it done-I work at touching his toes and his pads but we are far from actually holding a paw - it would take another year ..... Ivd decided Revolution once a month is enough for me

The sandpaper in the litter box isn't enough and cleaning boxes with it is extra work,it's not worth the effort .Only Max digs as much as it takes to file the nail tips a little and he's about the easiest to clip

Too bad I couldn't take him out front to scratch his old favorite tree- still, his nails were like daggers

Yes,Bella does very well being coddled and making a fuss over her with oodles of petting and baby talk- ,any type of correction just confuses her so I really go over the top telling her she's such a " good girl" with a lot of praise and pettimg when she's near Timmy, behaving nicely and she does much better - opposite of Sami,he understands " no" but he's a thinker.... Bella is not the sharpest tool in the box and she's very needy..

It's funny how each cat has their own unique personality and what works great for one will be counter productive for another- the more I'd tell Bella " no" the more anxious she'd become just becsusd she knows I'm not pleased with her,she can't connect the" why" ,silly little girl

So it's been over a year now- being around Timmy gets Bella want she likes best from me

He knows that he is well loved and that is to say he love you too mummy
It's the best feeling in the world to be Loved...Timmy gives much

So I've started playing around with Timmy's tootsies- for a while now I pet his paws until he'd give me " the look" - we've graduated to holding one toe at a time and quickly pressing out his claw.....the goal of course would be to clip his nails

Realistically I believe I could eventually clip one nail and perhaps do one a month :flail:.......

Thought I'd share to give yall a good laugh!

Good luck with the eventual nail clipping. I haven't actually attempted that with Pretty yet, but I think I need to soon, as they're getting a bit razor sharpish.

I'd not mind at all as his nails grow beautifully and don't curl inwards.... I feel bad that he gets stuck on everything,I suppose I'll end up taking him to the Vet to get clipped,we'll see

I am now thinking Billy will need his nails clipped as they are long and sharp/ he doesn’t seem to know how to retract them properly when playing writs so gets his claws stuck all the time. I have a scratch mat that he uses every day but his nails are still so long and sharp.

Even 1 a month sounds like a mammoth task with an ex feral 😂

Best is to clip them nails. Scratching on scratch post just help them shed off the old sheath but the sharp nails are still there and that's why you find claw shape nails on the floor of your house where the cats stretch and scratch and also you can hear the nails against the hard floor when they are walking.

I'm thinking of loading him up when I have to bring Graycie in for her steroid injection....first I have to talk to my Vet n find out where he will be next month....I'm still playing with his tootsies and it's never easy to get a full dose of Revolution on him either- he's quite handleable at this point ,not willing to be restrained though so who wants to get bitten and even give him a scare?I let him take off when Revolution is applied vs holding him against me to relax like I would with my Bella protesting..... Bella wouldn't scratch or bite me if her life depended on it- Timmy's fright is still flight or fight, that's an extremely hard behavior to modify or control with an 8yr old- the instinct is an involuntary action.....

My darling sweetheart Timmy-
Just hopped up beside me,put his adorable face on my chest and is purring away like a little motorboat- although he's always snuggly and loveable it's only recent he started purring loudly...just when I thought he couldn't get any cuter!

Such an affectionate boy...I wish everyone reluctant to take in a feral could see Timmy- what love can do
😻
