They're all so different - some just hate the cold trickle and then some react 2 seconds after as they freak from the " rapid heartbeat " side effect and others could care less....I know Timmy hates the feeling of it trickling and I'm as fast as lightening....he acts like your female did,as if I did something horrible to him... for a millimeter of a second!

You'd laugh at Bella- when I put her down she runs like the dickens ,completely panic stricken ( probably a racey heart) but then I say:" Awwww Belly Belle, what happened baaaaaby?:" and she runs back for me to pick her up,🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰
Awww, cats are the sweetest when they learn to love you. Was Bella a feral cat too or has she always been a big softie? 💕💕

I'm looking at Timmy napping out on the patio - behind him is the walkway everyone takes to get their mail,he doesn't even move anymore when people go by,he's come to feel very safe inside our cage ,lol

So glad he feels secure in his home - even if people come inside he just goes out to the patio or the high shelf in the front room.

That little tongue just does me in-when he's super cozy on the couch with me he's so relaxed that the tip of his tongue sticks out and I get such a kick out of it

Yes, fluffpaws fluffpaws very heart warming and gratifying to see him feeling safe, secure and unafraid.....I selfishly miss him running inside to me when people go by or always looking to make sure he could see me when he was on the patio but that's not how it should be--- as you say" he's getting his CAT MOJO on" Chilling with his feline companions, confident in his territory ,living an easy ,good life

Oh. I love to see these photos. He is a handsome boy and it's great that he is so confident now. Billy is still as hissy and spitty as ever at nights. Tonight was extra hissy. In the daytime he is great now but as soon as the sun goes down he is totally feral. So odd! It must be ingrained behaviour that kickstarts his adrenaline - or maybe something happened to him at night.
Anyway, to see your boy totally relaxed and loving his life is wonderful ❤❤ He actually looks as if he is smiling here x

Julest.... let this boy be your inspiration and encouragement - there is no reason Billy would be any less content one day

I really don't like to hear words like "cant" or " not" or " wont" or " never".....you get what you give,I believe it with every ounce of my being......I don't think I've ever met an animal in my entire life that did not respond favorably to human touch when they finally submit to your efforts(both wild & domestic species)....the exception would be something terribly wrong( medically, physically, neurological) That's my very strong opinion based on personal experience, over 50 yrs - I'm nearly 70

What works & is acceptable for some individuals isn't the same for everyone....I could never imagine a critter living in this house that did not want to be petted :heartshape:

Thank you. I believe it too. I am finding it hard as I keep saying to him that he must recognise that I won't harm him and that he is safe so why is he so fearful and aggressive reactive. If that is all he has ever known though it will just take time.

Keep telling him Billy safe in Billy's house :)

Did you try some cat music with purring at night, or putting some birds on YouTube for him to watch?

No. I have never tried that. I tried the calming harp music but don't even play that any more
How did he react?Timmy was terrified of Cat TV- then I tried just audio, cat calming music,classical,harp.... just terrified......I was having some TV withdrawals after like a month, lol

I tried just video of squirrels n birds without sound- terrified, then I realized on the big screen TV those gargantuan squirrels must look like T- Rex...... about 2months later I'd put just the picture on of like sunset Screensaver without creatures to get him used to it and then onto sound so low I felt deaf

Now there could be atom bombs, cars exploding or shoot outs and he doesn't flinch, sleeps in his little bed right beneath the TV

Yes,all things in time

Maybe on a small TV or monitor where they appear to be life size might be better than 65 inch, rofl ..... poor Timmy used to go hide in the top cubby of his enclosure when he saw the Teradactyls flying :flail:

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 teradactyls.
Yes we just have a small 32 inch here!

When we moved in to our last place, our roommate's dad came over and was whistling while it was still echoy. Nobel thought we were being invaded by a giant bird and hid.
