I just bought a new truck and gave my older SUV to a nephew.  My sister, her husband, my nephew and his girlfriend came from out of town to pick it up yesterday.  I was a little nervous how my kitten would react as the only people he has ever really been around was my girlfriend and myself.  Well all four of them came in and I was holding Tim, I put him on the floor his tail was up and he checked everyone out and was not skittish at all.  My nephew and I went to transfer the vehicle and when we got back my brother in law was on the floor playing with Tim and they were both having a ball.  That's good news as I am taking him with me when I go to my parents for Christmas.  My girlfriend says because he has been treated so well he has no cause to fear people.  My brother in law wanted to take him home lol!

It's always great to see that your kitten is a people person and not a cat that runs and hides whenever the door opens. When my Loki was a kitten I had to leave for a week to see my in-laws, and my mom came to check up on him every day and hung out with him. Ever since then whenever my mom comes to my house, Loki is all over her and is a huge baby with her, more so than other house guests, almost like he remembers her from when he was a kitten. It's great that Tim is getting some time to socialize with other people, and hopefully taking him with you for Christmas goes just as well!

Hey, that's great!  I think the purrsonality comes in part from the dad, the socialising the kitten has with the mom, and then the experience around people and other 'stuff'. That he is so chilled and happy around lots of people is a great credit to you and I agree, it is a lovely sign that a kitten has not had bad experiences around people before. That's how I've explained my boy's behaviours because he is right in there with pretty much everyone who comes in, even when the apartment's full of total strangers.  Long may Tim remain a confident ruler of his house.

When you take him off to your parents he might not feel so confident but I'm sure it will go well as long as you let him find his way in his new space.  I took my girls up to my mum's on their first Christmas and it all went well. Just make sure they kitten proof their house with no little spaces and chimneys etc for him to explore and get stuck in, or plants to eat if they're not used to cats.  Have a good look at the Articles on keeping your cat safe, household products and plants sections before you go so you can check if your family might have to move anything.  Oh, and no relatives with big bags that they might try to sneek off with Tim in!
