Ready for a new theme? Mia6 Mia6 posted some '90's songs last week, so how about we continue on that theme.

You can get some ideas at these links:
100 Unforgettable Songs From the 1990s
50 songs every '90s kid will remember
The 52 Best Pop Songs From the '90s

I'll start with, surprise, surprise...

"I'll be there, till the stars don't shine
'Til the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme
I know when I die you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you, always"

Always - Bon Jovi (1994)

"Always" is a power ballad by American rock band Bon Jovi. It was released as a single from their 1994 greatest hits album Cross Road and went on to become one of their best-selling singles, with a million copies sold in the US and more than 3 million worldwide. The song reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was an international hit, peaking at number one in Belgium, Canada, Ireland and Switzerland, number two in Australia and the United Kingdom, and number four in Germany. In the United Kingdom, it was the first number-one single on the UK Rock and Metal Singles Chart. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Always_(Bon_Jovi_song)

The 90s was the decade of all the great bands. It was my favorite music. I can do them from memory without looking them up. I played them on the jukebox. Do they still have jukeboxes?

I really feel that I'm losing my best friend
I can't believe this could be the end
It looks as though you're letting go
And if it's real, well I don't want to know

Unlike many of the 80's hair bands, my band, (Bon Jovi in case you weren't sure, LOL) managed to survive the 90's, albeit with lesser CD and ticket sales, particularly in the US, when this new music genre called "Grunge" took over the music scene.

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana (1991)

Jeremy - Pearl Jam (1991)

Today - Smashing Pumpkins (1993)

This song played all the time when I went out dancing at the clubs in the 90s!

I saw Bon Jovi in concert several times, but that was in the early 2000s I think, about the time of the Crush album. Have you ever seen them live?

Don't go chasin' waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast

Yes, but not recently. The last time was 2006. Before that was twice during the Crush tour in 2000. And twice in the mid 90's.

Another music "genre" that tried to push Bon Jovi off the charts in the 90's was "boy bands". That could probably be it's own theme, but it still fits the 90s.

Did you go to the concerts in Montreal, Quebec or Kanata, Ontario? I went to those two that year.
Ok, this is so cool ... I too was at the Montreal 2000 concert. :)
Just think, you, me and Jon were all breathing the same air at the same time.

Speaking of Bon Jovi, I know when aren't I, LOL, here's the song they opened each concert of the Crush tour with. Couldn't find a video from Montreal, so settled with one from a couple weeks earlier.

Oh that's so cool that we were both there! Montreal is about 2 hours from here.

I wanna wake up where you are
I won't say anything at all
So why don't you slide
Yeah, we're gonna let it slide

Going back a bit further in time...an eerie little offering from Pink Floyd...

"Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun"

Little by little the night turns around
Counting the leaves which tremble at dawn
Lotus's lean on each other in yearning
Over the hills a swallow is resting
Set the controls for the heart of the sun

Over the mountain watching the watcher
Breaking the darkness, waking the grapevine
Knowledge of love is knowledge of shadow
Love is the shadow that ripens the wine

Set the controls for the heart of the sun
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun

Witness the man who waves at the wall
Making the shape of his question to Heaven
Whether the sun will fall in the evening
Will he remember the lesson of giving?

Set the controls for the heart of the sun
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun
