Kiss From a Rose - Seal (1994)

I Beg Your Pardon, I Never Promised You A Rose Garden - Lynn Anderson

Just started page 55, so I'm catching up to Lari Lari . Mind you, I'm not listening to all songs completely. And I definitely did not listen to the 8 hours of Relaxing Dog Music. But I am listening to at least 30 seconds of every song. Some songs, like the twangy country ones, hurt my ears though. Probably the same way the Bon Jovi songs hurt some of y'all's ears.

page 58. I've been running short on time this week, unfortunately.
You know the story of the tortoise and the hare, right? Well the tortoise (me) is now on page 64. :catman: Though I guess I'm playing by different rules than you are. (i.e. skipped the dog relaxing music. )

Don't think this song's been posted before. :headscratch:

Sad song

Come to my door, baby
Face is clean and shining black as night
My mother went to answer
You know that you looked so fine
Now, I could understand your tears and your shame
She called you 'Boy' instead of your name
When she wouldn't let you inside
When she turned and said, "But honey, he's not our kind"
She says I can't see you any more, baby
Can't see you anymore
Walk me down to school, baby
Everybody's acting deaf and blind
Until they turn and say
Why don't you stick to your own kind
My teachers all laugh, they smirk and stare
Cuttin' deep down in our affair
Preachers of equality, think they believe it
Then why won't they just let us be?
They say I can't see you anymore, baby
Can't see you anymore
One of these days I'm gonna stop my listenin'
Gonna raise my head up high
One of these days I'm gonna raise my glistenin'
Wings and fly
But that day will have to wait for awhile
Baby, I'm only a society's child
When we're older things may change
But for now this is the way they must remain
I say, I can't see you any more, baby
Can't see you anymore
No, I don't wanna see you any more, baby

Wait, I thought I was the tortoise because I was going steady and slow and listening to everything and you were the hare because you were listening to 60 seconds and skipping ahead? Ah well, I knew you'd pass me, and I honestly thought it would be sooner than now. :wave3: I'll just keep going at my own pace.

Yeah, I guess I would be the hare. But didn't he end up napping at the end, and that's how the tortoise beat him? Oh, well. Not a competition anyway. And I'm super impressed that you are listening to everything! :)

I'm actually listening to a lot of complete songs now, and have already started to wonder what I'll listen to once I catch up the the current posts. We need more people to start posting songs here. (lurkers don't be shy ) And for the missing members to come back. :sigh:

Here's an oldie:

Paper Roses - Marie Osmond (1973)

And an oldie from her big brother:

I know it's not actually about a dog, but puppy *is* in the title. ;)

Puppy Love - Donny Osmond (1972)

Well hello everyone!
Well, hello yourself !!! :welcomeback2:

I’m going to try and post a song that I really like and fits the flower theme. Orchids happen to be close to my heart so this seemed appropriate in many ways.
Great song!

I hope those who have been absent will return.
Me too. I'm a worrier, and my mind goes to all kinds of worrisome places when I start to wonder why long-time posters have disappeared. Hopefully it's just that their life changed, and they don't have time for TCS anymore. But I still worry. :( And miss them. :sigh:

I hope this works since I am technically challenged! ;) If not, :dunno:
It worked! :woohoo: Now you can post more songs! :musicnote::musicnote::musicnote:

rubysmama rubysmama Love the Donny and Marie tunes!!
They were so young back then. :)

Here's a breakup song, though I don't think she's quite at the point of wanting to "break his neck" yet. ;)

Don't Speak - No Doubt (1996)
