I understand why they brought him back. I think a lot of the issue lies with the Humane Society for not getting this pup training and a large area to run when it was younger.

So many dogs are returned to shelters before they even have a chance. Some dogs should be placed with an experienced owner who understands their behavior and is willing to put in the time to work with them. In this particular case, Rusty was bounced around back and forth, poor guy. :frown: (Personally I do not see any German Shepherd in him as described but that's neither here nor there in relation to the story.)

I don't see much/any GSD either but have found that it is a breed that will be thrown into a mix with lots of dogs who are brought to shelters. Having worked some really grim dog rescue in my time, all I can say is that Rusty is lucky that he was brought back to the shelter. Some people would have just opened the back gate and let him go.
