Well, I didn't mean an erupting volcano! :lol3: Mt Fuji is an active volcano.

I believe I rode a camel at the San Diego Zoo when I was little. I don't know if I would do it now. I suppose if I had to get across a desert I would have to ;).

Would you ever have a pet skunk?

I dislike the telephone intensely. There is no phone in our bedroom.

Would you ever delete someone from your email contacts?

Yes. I just went through my work email address book and deleted people who no longer work for the company.

Would you ever go spelunking?

Spent hours and hours in caves one night. Lots of caves an hour or so from where I live. Not a hobby but have been.

Would you ever give up a highly paying job to have a moderately paying job with real good coworkers and bosses opposed to people you really don't like?

I had a very well-paid job before I retired with good benefits, bonuses, etc. Didn't really like many of the people I worked with, but stuck with the job for the money.

Would you ever leave your job to freelance?

I don't think I could leave the job I have now. I am incredibly spoiled here. My boss and coworkers saved me tens of thousands of dollars shoring up my in-laws cottage, ripping out the old supports and digging out under the cottage so my in-laws could have new supports put in. Removed a rock hill and leveled off the property. Added well over 100 thousand dollars to the property value and I spent nowhere near that. The cottage property is on a UN World Heritage site and is worth a lot of money.

That and not many places would let me have this on my desk.

If the UN paid the property tax, I would have cared to know what they had to say!

Would you ever piss off UN World Heritage people to get what you want?

P.S. Everyone at my work are extremely close friends and our lives depend on each other. Building scaffolding and working with tons of steel is extremely dangerous. The knowledge and muscle my friends have can move structures which has great benefits.

The entire Rideau Canal system in Ontario is world heritage. At the same time it is our cottage recreation space. Stupid ideas?

No.

Would you ever accept a dinner invitation from Melania Trump if it were just the two of you?

Sure. Why not?

Would you ever go to Antarctica if you had to spend 6 months there?

Winter is just ending for me so no thank you. 4-5 months per year is plenty.

Would you ever drive a car out on the ice and go fishing?

@Primula

UN World Heritage is some sort of stupid waste of money as near as I can tell. It is all over the world so maybe not as stupid elsewhere. They think they can dictate what can be done on privately owned property but they haven't a leg to stand on. Why should I have to preserve land on private property for future generations to see if they aren't allowed on the private property to see it? The property taxes are outrageous so it's not like it is tax free public land. I wonder what people at the UN would do if I started designating their homes as World Heritage and blocked them from landscaping their property.

"Would you ever demolish a house without a permit?"

Answer :

No. I know not to screw with structures.

I have the required permits for new supports and the deck getting added on. I also didn't go anywhere near the water front because I would have had people from the ministry of the environment all over me. The township people are OK, it is those other people that got involved that are a stupid.

This is the after photo. After the new supports but before the new deck.

Have a good weekend Primula.

I will re-post my last "would you ever" to continue the thread.

Would you ever drive a car out on the ice and go fishing?

Don't drive, no ice, and I don't fish so no.

By the way I think the work they do is extremely important.

Would you return a book that you borrowed from a library years ago and forgot to take back?

Yes, I would return an old library book. I would just throw it in one of the various libraries' book return boxes.

Would you ever build an extra story on your house?
