They weren't feral. They were pet dogs and cats.
I just came back from dropping Felix off. Really hope they get everything this time around.
Also on my mind, my allergies are acting up now that the air is warmer and the plant stuff is flying. I've been sneezing so much. My eyes are red and ichy. But I don't take medication until I break out in hives which is rarely.
The fleas are also really determined this year. I've picked off a few adults and I check daily but I haven't seen any more. Not sure what their plan is.
It's PETA but yeah. They have something like a 98% kill rate at the only "shelter" they run. Not because they offer euthanasia services for sick pets either. PETA does not care about animals; don't donate to them. Individual members may care about animals but not the actual organization.
As for race horses, what did you think happens to those who aren't good at racing or have finished their careers? It's a very cruel industry. Apparently other countries have better practices but the US horse racing industry is awful.
Horse racing’s uncomfortable truth: Horses die — 87 last year alone in Pa.
I have a Facebook friend who just moved to Arizona from here. She probably brought it with her .
I had no idea. Nobody ever told me. I've never seen it in the news.
Whoops! Thanks. Well the other spelling works too.
That article broke my heart. So there were actually 493 horses that died in racing in 2018. It says they were drugging the horses. These people don't love horses. They shouldn't be in the business if they don't love them.
I know, it stinks . But basically---if anyone is making money off live animals, they're probably abusing those animals. There are exceptions of course, but not a lot. Being kind to animals isn't very profitable.
I notice this a lot with horses everywhere. I don't know what it is but whenever they "serve their purpose" they are sold off. And when they are worked, they are worked a ton. It's all competitions and winning. It's hard to see how these people actually have true genuine connections with their horses. Like how someone loves a cat or dog. It's like the idea of just owning horses for the fun of it is foreign. I donno... just an observation.
I don't believe in horse racing. They are babies. The knees don't even close until they are three, and they are trained as yearlings and raced at two. Does anyone remember Go For Wand in 1990?
When I trained, I wouldn't even sit on a horse until they were three.
Personally, I believe racing a horse under the age of five is cruel and abusive.
Horse and dog racing is cruel and abusive and totally unnecessary. There is no need for humans to treat animals like that.
They didn't test for anything.
PETA is just awful.
I just got almost a foot of hair cut off. I want to donate it, but not to locks of life because they charge a lot for their wigs. Wasn't there a children's charity that gave them to cancer kids?
I googled. I found Hair We Share. I started a crowdfunding thing that will go directly to them to help pay to make wigs. Am I allowed to share that link here?
I SAW A STRAY CAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! I wanted to stop the car and go pick him/her up but it was such a busy road. They were in a ditch just staring. No collar or anything. Not many houses near by either. UGH! I hope animal services got to them eventually.
My late Grandfather's birthday is today. Wish we celebrated them better when he was alive. I miss him.
It won't stop until it's no longer profitable. People need to stop supporting those places. The Kentucky Derby is still a celebrity "must be seen at" event. It's unfortunate. They don't stop to think about how the animals are treated.
He knows how you feel. You celebrate his life every time you think of him with love.
Locks of Love is anther place you could try and their wigs are free. Children come first, then cancer patients.
Is your hair still long?
Actually, it's the shortest it's ever been. I'm afraid to go shorter because I have a lot of natural curl And I don't want a constant fro.
We got Aedan's hair cut, too.
You look beautiful and Aedan is so adorable. He definitely inherited mama's good looks. He's your mini me.
Lookin' good! Both of you.
