If you look closely, you can see Connor snoozing behind Murphy. :) And the bruises are gone. :)
Excellent! When you think about it, cats and very young babies have a lot in common, specifically they both spend most of their time sleeping. And it's always nice to have a warm buddy to cuddle with during your nap.

Sounds like an allergy. I think I mentioned earlier that one of the chemo drugs my friend with breast cancer was on had a carrier drug that she was allergic to; that's the first thing I'd investigate because it sounds like it's systemic. The second thing I'd look for is a new soap, or an old soap with a changed formula.

You may want to go to an allergist rather than the doctors who have you on chemo; they may not have the necessary resources to give you a proper diagnosis.

I've noticed that some people who have specific illnesses that seem to take over their lives tend to think of their specialists as their primary care physicians; I know my husband thinks of his nephrologist that way, and it's counter-productive because specialists don't think of themselves that way. This means that when my husband needs a referral to a different specialist he has a hard time getting it because he doesn't actually have a PCP to give it to him. If this describes you, your first step should be to find a PCP, who can keep track of everything you're on and all the problems you have, and recommend an allergist for you, as well as tell you whether your specialists are doing their jobs properly, because I have a feeling that they may not be.

:yeah::yeah::yeah:

You have my deepest sympathies Max's Human Max's Human . That kind of itching would turn me into a whimpering baby. I agree with Margret Margret - it sounds like an allergy, possibly to one of your meds. Allergies can pop up anytime, even to medications or food, etc. that you've been taking for years with no problems.

Maybe you need one of these:

Or one of these: ;)

Seriously, though, have you tried taking a bath in medicated oatmeal? My ex had a severe allergy to poison ivy and found medicated oatmeal gave him the most effective relief. I don't know what the deal is with it now - I just did a search for it and could only find medicated oatmeal shampoo for dogs!

I hope you find a solution to this very soon.:hugs:

I found a Twitch channel that shows nothing but Joy Of Painting. I remember occasionally coming across the show when I was a little girl. The dark background freaked me out a bit

Now I can appreciate the show fully. It's so soothing.
I used to love to watch Bob Ross, too. It was always so calming to watch him. I still see him on PBS sometimes.

One of the times I had this problem here's what I did: changed my shampoo, soap, and lotion (one at a time) to see if I had developed an allergy to anything in them. Changed laundry soap, dryer sheet, diet (just in case), sanitizing my room (before we had cats) just in case it was something in the room. Finally, in desperation, I went to the doctor--and it was a fungal infection. It might not be the meds, it might be environment or something actually in you that your body can't fight off right now as a result of the chemo. Just a thought.

Side note--one of the things that did help a little (enough for me to sleep, at any rate) was covering the itching area with some baking soda paste. You might try that, on a little area at first to see if it helps at all.

@Mamanyt1953 can't be here today as she seems to have caught the flu, and I'll post about that separately, but she's said something to me about putting chamomile in bathwater to soothe the skin. You may want to try that, as well, Max's Human Max's Human . For starters. just make a large cup of chamomile tea and use a wash cloth to apply it to a limited area and see what it does.

My phone says it's 60 degrees right now. Having just been outside, I have to question whether the app is working.
I doubt that your phone is actually detecting the temperature directly; it's probably connecting to the Weather Underground or some other internet site for its information, and in my experience those sites just use data from what they believe to be the closest weather station to you.

My little man rolled over from his belly to his back this morning. I'm impressed - ite's pretty early for him to be doing that.
:wow:I'm impressed, too! He was born when? A week ago Thursday or Friday? That's a really major accomplishment for his first two weeks out of the womb!

I'm trying to clean baby oil out of my carpet. :bawling:

What the heck kind of minerals are in baby oil and how did they get oil out of those minerals? It goes on clear, so why does it drip black stuff all over my carpet? It's suppose to be low viscosity, so why is it picking up all that grime and nasty blackness and why doesn't it wash off during rainy and snowy days while I'm at work?

I've emptied my can of carpet cleaner and I only covered 2/3 of the affected area. I've scrubbed 1/3, the other 1/3 is still soaking in. Until the carpet is dry I'm not going to know if I got all the nasty black baby oil out of it or if I got most of it out but still need to do a second cleaning to get it all.

Okay, @Mamanyt1953 seems to have come down with the flu, despite having gotten a flu shot (there's a lot of that going around this year), and those inspectors are scheduled to come tomorrow. These are the inspectors who must not find the Secret Feral Shelter, and I don't know whether @Mamanyt1953 is up to pulling it up close to the building in the morning. She is planning to tape a sign to her front door saying:
Flu! Extremely contagious! Enter at your own risk!
Please, everyone, send her good vibes that the inspectors will be open to good advice and reschedule. And send @Mamanyt1953 good vibes for healing, as well.

Just a guess, but the carpet itself may be made of something that reacts with mineral oil. It's probably a petroleum distillate, a by-product of the manufacturing process for gasoline. Mineral oil - Wikipedia I'm sorry to say it, but you man not be able to "get it out." I hope I'm wrong.

Get better quick @Mamanyt1953

Alicia88 Alicia88 Rolling already???? Wow. Better childproof now, before he figures out how to flip back to front and decides to roll to whatever looks interesting.

It's not an interaction, I've seen it drip off my bike chain after I've made it home. Since I don't have the means to remove my chain I have to clean it while it's still on the bike, and even after a good scrubbing with WD40 and Dawn dish soap, oil goes on the clean (battleship gray) chain and drips right off onto my drop cloths black.

My husband's sense of household order means that my stuff always disappears in the name of straightening up, so he did not want the messy look of a drop cloth where I park my bike. We compromised on a dark colored carpet runner, and that arrived today.

My bike was parked in a different area pre-Christmas tree and my carpet cleaner got those oil stains out. They were just a lot, lot smaller since I didn't have snow and a bit of ice getting stuck in the bike chain and gears and then melting after I got it inside.

We're looking to move in the next month or two so childproofing this place seems like a waste.

I hope the antivirals help. The flu can get dangerous really fast.

You don't have to soak the chain with oil. Take a dry clean rag and run it along the chain before you park it. I found out the hard way too much oil isn't good for the chain..attracts more dirt. Since I have ran the rag it runs alot better and less dirt on chain. Also I wouldn't use WD40. It's not an oil. It's more alcohol base and it goes away pretty quick. Any light weight oil is fine. I have what's called powerlube in a spray bottle. I mist the chain once in a blue moon outside. You don't need alot.

Also any penetrating oil will work too. It's just to keep air off chain so doesn't rust. Kind of have to find happy medium.

For stains..sometimes you have to use like on like. Since its oil I dont think there's a petroleum product that would remove...other than dawn but that's not a good idea. You can try toothpaste...I swear it gets the toughest stains out of my clothes.

Or get some of those wet wipes shop rags they use in automechanic shop...we have these wipes called muscleman wipes made by Omega and I swear these things take paint off my hands. They take grease off too...maybe see if you can find them on Amazon.
